Dems Scream Gun Control While Condoning Mental Illness

I hope I live long enough to see Democrats take a rational approach to an argument. It’s been said ad nauseam that guns don’t kill people; people kill people. A gun is an inanimate object that can do nothing until someone decides to use it. The liberal argument that if there were fewer guns, there would be fewer mass shootings is maddeningly ignorant. That simplistic reasoning can be said about anything, but that doesn’t make it practical. If there were fewer cars, there would be fewer auto accidents. If there were fewer knives, there would be fewer stabbings. Hell, if there was less water, there would be fewer drownings, but despite what Democrats and the radical left want to do, you cannot control every aspect of every single person’s life.

One thing no one can disagree with, but the left refuses to discuss, is that if someone commits a mass shooting, they are suffering from some mental illness or delusion. Those are the facts, and they are indisputable.

If you presented an argument to Democrats that dismissed absolute science, denied biological facts, and rejected reality, they would ridicule and embarrass you, and they would be correct to do so, especially if the denial were resulting in danger to the general public.

So, why then do Democrats and the radical left condone, enable, and promote transgenderism?

Transgenderism dismisses absolute science, denies biological facts, and rejects reality. It doesn’t exist, and the people who believe they are a different sex than they are suffer from a delusional mental illness.

I have consistently written that transgenderism is a serious delusion that needs to be treated, never condoned, and certainly never encouraged. Yet the radical left refuses to see that truth. In the imaginary world of the left, everything should be accepted, even when it’s not socially or morally acceptable, and even though they know that it’s dangerous for the person suffering from the denial of reality and possibly for those around them.

The Democrats’ support of these mentally ill individuals goes beyond the obvious issues of men being in women’s bathrooms and locker rooms and their totally unjustified intrusion into women’s sports. It goes beyond the dangerous DEI requirements that a certain number of hires need to be mentally ill, and the insistence that people who are not fooled by these lies can be fired for not using the man-made pronouns to appease these deluded misfits.

Anyone who suffers from a mental illness has the potential to be explosively dangerous. Which means those who believe they are something they are not and can never be certainly fit that bill. Why Democrats refuse to accept that truism and seek help for these people instead of winding them up and releasing them onto society is inexcusable.

Yesterday, another mentally ill man who thought he was a female, Robert Westman, opened fire at the Annunciation Catholic Church in Minnesota. Firing through the stained-glass windows at children who were praying, Westman killed two children, ages 8 and 10, and wounded another 17. According to the Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara, fourteen of the 17 injured were children ages 6 to 15, and three of the injured victims are adults in their 80s.

Westman was armed with a shotgun, a rifle, and a pistol. After firing into the church, he killed himself. CBS News reported that Westman’s mother, Mary Grace Westman, was a “former employee” of the school who retired in 2021.

The police chief stated that investigators are aware of a manifesto that the gunman had scheduled to be released on YouTube before the shooting. This manifesto appeared to show the gunman at the scene and contained concerning writings. The content has since been removed with the assistance of the FBI and is currently under review.

The New York Post reported that he displayed an “obsession with mass shooters – including Sandy Hook killer Adam Lanza,” flips through a notebook filled with text in both English and Russian, and what appears to be a diagram of a church, and displays numerous weapons and ammunition magazines with various messages scrawled on them, including “The Big One,” “F**k Everything That You Stand For,” “For the Children,” “Where Is Your God,” and “Kill Donald Trump.”

Police Chief O’Hara said:

“This was a deliberate act of violence against innocent children and other people worshipping. The sheer cruelty and cowardice of firing into a church full of children is absolutely incomprehensible.”

Cardinal Raymond Burke offered the following prayer:

“May the Sacred Heart of Jesus, pierced for our salvation, pour out His mercy upon the dead, His healing upon the injured, and His consolation upon every family and loved one afflicted by this tragedy. Let us, with renewed faith, pray for the conversion of hearts, that such acts of hatred may be transformed into occasions of grace, and that our nation may rediscover the path of peace found only in obedience to the law of God written upon every human heart, the law whose first precept is the safeguarding and care of human life.”

Democrats immediately made the shooting political while also attacking Christians. Still seeking relevance, loudmouth and opinionated Jen Psaki posted on X:

“Prayer is not freaking enough. Prayers does not end school shootings. prayers do not make parents feel safe sending their kids to school. Prayer does not bring these kids back. Enough with the thoughts and prayers.”

Democratic Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey echoed Psaki’s cold thoughts, saying:

“Don’t just say this is about thoughts and prayers right now. These kids were literally praying. It was the first week of school, they were in a church.”

Democrat Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, apparently unable to form any thoughts of her own, parroted Frey’s words, stating that “thoughts and prayers just aren’t enough.”

This proves how totally oblivious the Democrats are. They are unable to muster even the smallest amount of compassion towards the victims but will defend and promote the mentally ill men who think they are female and women who think they are male, knowing full well they are dangerous.

I agree that prayer should be accompanied by action. So, I ask Christians to not only pray for all involved with this tragedy, but also to ask that God open the eyes of Democrats to the truth about the sickness that is the transgenderism myth.

I then urge all rational people to muster up some tough love and to stop playing along with the pipe dream of biological and scientific impossibilities. This leftist-generated illusion has only brought pain and heartbreak. It’s time for it to be recognized for what it is: a mental illness that needs treatment, not liberal Democrat accomplices.
