Social Justice Messages And Male Cheerleaders, The NFL Can’t Grasp Time And Place
My parents always told me that there is a time and place for everything. Many people misinterpret this to mean that certain things are never appropriate, but what it really means is that not everything is suitable for every situation or moment.
Like Disney and other Hollywood studios that have forsaken entertainment for woke indoctrination, the NFL continues to lean left, and for one team, they may have crossed a line of demarcation.
For the sixth straight year, the NFL has felt the need to preach to its customers by painting simplistic social messaging phrases in the end zones of every stadium in the league. This year, the league has provided each team with four options: “End Racism,” “Stop Hate,” “Choose Love,” and “Inspire Change.” Additionally, the phrase “It Takes All of Us” will be stenciled in the opposite end zone for all games. The only change from 2024 is that “Inspire Change” will replace “Vote.”
The league states that the messages will support other initiatives, such as Salute to Service and Crucial Catch, which will also be featured in the end zones during select weeks this season.
Anna Isaacson, the NFL’s senior vice president of social responsibility, told The Associated Press:
“We’re working hand-in-hand with players, and alongside our clubs, to amplify player voices and underscore what is most important to them.”
“For decades, the NFL and its players have been a unifying force in American culture and society that brings people of all cultures and backgrounds together to enjoy America’s most popular sport.”
“This is an honor and responsibility that the league takes seriously, which is why we actively invest in off-field programs and on-field initiatives that promote unity.”
“Choose Love” was first introduced in 2022 and has been embraced by the Bills following a shooting that killed ten people at a Buffalo supermarket.
Isaacson claims that “Choose Love continues to resonate across the league. It has become a unifying message of healing and hope, one that many players continue to wear voluntarily on helmet decals.”
This is not meant to sound callous, but if that phrase is meaningful to the Bills and the city of Buffalo, perhaps it would be more meaningful if it were confined to their stadium.
Fans go to stadiums to watch their favorite teams play FOOTBALL. Does the NFL really think that someone’s life is changed by seeing woke phrases stenciled in the end zone? This is the NFL bowing down to liberal forces and exposing paying fans to messaging they don’t need to or want to see.
Likewise, this year, 12 teams will have integrated male cheerleaders onto their sidelines.
Although many cheerleading teams in high schools, colleges, and the NFL utilize men for supporting roles in stunts and lifts, one particular team has taken this concept even further.
The Minnesota Vikings are receiving significant backlash for featuring two male cheerleaders on their social media and official team website.
“Louie” and “Blaize” are members of the Vikings cheerleading squad for 2025 and 2026. Both men frequently appear on the team and its official Instagram accounts, including in the official lineup photos.
The team’s cheer page lists all members, including the two males and all the females, together without any indication that they are male.
The Vikings are promoting “Louie” and “Blaize” as key performers, which has outraged many fans. In one Instagram clip, the team declared:
“The next generation of cheer has arrived!”
No, it hasn’t.
Note to the NFL, the fans that are disgusted with this ARE NOT HOMOPHOBIC!
No one cares if someone is gay or lesbian, but it’s time for the NFL to admit that these are alternative lifestyles, and they do not need to be highlighted in every situation just so the league can demonstrate its wokeness.
This is already turning a lot of fans off, some saying they will never cheer for the Vikings again, and others wanting to cancel their season tickets. There is a time and place for everything, and at an NFL football game, it is definitely not the time and place for this type of display.
The left loves to play these little mind games, and people are getting sick and tired of playing. The people who dislike this type of public display in a totally inappropriate arena are not small-minded or anal retentive. Those on the left who are so insecure that they can’t see when something is inappropriate are the ones who are small-minded.
The left tries to guilt people into feeling bad, but America is “waking up,” which is diametrically opposed to being “woke.” There is nothing wrong with someone having a sexual orientation that is different, but it IS WRONG for the left’s need to put it on public display wherever and whenever they want.
The NFL is the most popular sport in America, but if the league continues to descend into the depravity that the radical left wants to gloss over, then the hourglass will flip.
