Why The Left Can’t Be Honest About Political Power

The Right is more than willing to admit that we want power, and we intend to use that power to enshrine our vision of how society should be organized.

The Left is utterly unwilling to give up the game, even though everyone perfectly understands they’re seeking the same thing, just with a different vision in mind.

Instead, everything has to be cloaked under an infinite number of moralistic euphemisms.

“We’re just good people.”
“We’re just fighting Fascism.”
“We’re just seeking healthcare.”
“We’re just defending Democracy.”
“We’re just supporting basic human rights.”

No. You are seeking power. And you intend to wield that power to do what you’ve always done: Punish your enemies and reward your friends. You’re just disguising that under the cloak of some universal humanitarian project.

The fact that these people can’t be honest about what they want tells us quite a lot.

If the Left ever openly came out and said “Yes, we’re wielding power to punish our enemies and reward our friends” they would instantly lose the very moral high ground that gives them leverage over society because that moralistic framing is the source of their power.

Without it, they’re nothing. The entire mythos that provides strength and vitality to the Left would vanish into thin air.
