“Your Call Cannot Be Connected.” Swalwell Wants To Vote By Phone
There are bad ideas, terrible ideas, stupid ideas, and ideas that are so bizarrely outrageous that you have to question the sanity of the person who suggested them. In this case, it was (D) Rep Eric Swalwell who, with a straight face, suggested that Americans should be able to vote by phone.
Voter integrity in blue states already cannot be trusted, so the very idea that Swalwell would suggest that people should be able to vote by phone is inconceivably moronic. Even worse, Swalwell is trying to sell this boondoggle as some revolutionary idea.
Swalwell, not surprisingly, chose to announce that he will be running for Governor on The Late Show. He followed that up by revealing his vote-by-phone fiasco, on another media “performance” claiming he wants to make this change to “max out democracy.”
“I want us to be able to vote by phone. I think every California… by phone, by phone, yeah, if we can do our taxes, do our, you know, our, make our health care appointments, you know, make, essentially, your, do your banking online, you should be able to vote by phone. Make it safe, make it secure. But it’s actually already happening all over the United States.
I want us to be a blue state that doesn’t do just a little bit better than, like, Georgia or Alabama when it comes to like voting access. I want us to max out democracy.
Also, as it relates to democracy, if you wait in line for 30 minutes or more, if you do want to vote in person, I think you should fine every county for every minute that a person has to wait longer. We have to be better, not just a little bit better than the other states, the DMV. I don’t think Californians should have to go in person to the DMV anymore.
I think we can do that virtually. I think you.. You can have the DMV employees do it virtually, but that’s a lot of real estate. Is that the most popular position we can modernize the state? And I look forward to, you know, bringing these ideas to Californians.”
Oh, Brother, it takes months to get final election results out of California, and this fool thinks waiting in line for 30 minutes is too much of an inconvenience to cast a vote. He wants to fine each county for every minute over that a person has to wait?
Look, no one takes Swalwell seriously now, and apparently, the very idea of running for governor has caused him to lose all touch with reality. California is the birthplace of lunatics of all shapes and sizes, and this one wants to destroy the voting system.
Someone tell Swalwell that voting isn’t ordering a pizza or calling an Uber. This idea from Swalwell is an insult to California voters’ intelligence. The question is, are they intelligent enough to realize that voting for anyone who would even suggest it is digging the hole they are in even deeper?
