Keep This Theory In Mind As You Watch The Circus Play Out Over The RAF Fairford Fiasco

There are a number of developments as the rather bizarre case of a possible foiled terrorist attack on American pilots and planes at RAF Fairford in the UK. A good summary of the latest can be found here.

But I can boil all of this down for you. And what’s happening here isn’t Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six. It’s Guy Ritchie’s Mobland, or maybe The Gentlemen.

You wanna know what that fiasco at RAF Fairford was all about?

I have a theory that I’ll bet is spot-on correct.

These guys weren’t terrorists. They were a gang of fuel thieves. They were running all over the Cotswolds stealing red diesel off farms and then bootlegging it to London and selling it on the black market.

Meanwhile, the jihadis who have relatively free rein in the UK have been making terror threats against RAF Fairford pretty much forever, and those threats are being taken somewhat seriously. Seriously enough that SAS is at the ready.

The locals around the airbase have known about the fuel thieves and are beyond disgusted by the refusal of the police to do anything about them.

So somebody rolls up on these guys, who are probably staging for a raid on a farm adjacent to Fairford, and gets a brilliant idea – call them in as terrorists.

Fuel thieves don’t get the cops’ attention but terrorists at least sort-of do.

So the police show up and nab five of them, though apparently there were more, and this becomes a super high-profile case. Except they can’t really make them for terrorists. And they also can’t dismiss them, because at the minimum they’re fuel thieves and letting them go would cause a revolt in the Cotswolds.

Meanwhile Trump pops off on this, either because he doesn’t know what’s going on or because he’s not above humiliating Andy Burnham, and now both the fuel thieves and the Labour government are thoroughly, in Guy Ritchie-speak, “stitched up.”

And that means almost certainly that the next arrests will be the people in the Cotswolds who called in the tip to the cops. You can make book on it.
