“Colonialism” Now An Excuse For Throat-Slashing Attacks
Judges these days seem to have their own sense of justice. Unfortunately, most of these feeble, week kneed, decisions always lean toward the left. Thus, the perpetrators of these crimes are shown mercy, while the victims are treated with unfair disdain.
A Canadian judge has provided us with the latest example of “Make it up as you go along” sentencing in response to a horrific crime
The victim of the crime is not named, but what happened to him was an atrocious act of random violence. On May 18th of this year, the 65-year-old man was riding a light rail train on his way to work. This is the only mode of transportation available to him because he is visually impaired and is unable to drive. At around 6:20am, his attacker a 25-year-old punk named Bobby Crane, told his friend that he “wanted to get a guy.”
Crane then took out a utility knife, walked up to the victim and according to the prosecuting attorney:
“The accused then slashed his throat, dragging his knife from the right side to the left side of his neck.”
The attack resulted in a nine-inch gash that very nearly proved to be fatal. In fact, doctors told the victim that the slash came within one-tenth of an inch of ending his life.
After the attack, the victim staggered to the front of the train to alert the driver. The driver then stopped the train and called for help, Crane then forced open the doors and fled on foot. He was subsequently captured by the authorities.
After his capture, he complained to the police that he was in pain, so he was transported to a hospital for evaluation. While there, he then attempted to physically assault a doctor. He was assessed and was released back into police custody.
This is a hideous crime. A defenseless, visually impaired man, quietly minding his own business on his way to work, is viciously attacked without provocation. Surely, his attacker will be punished to the maximum extent of the law, right?
Wrong.
Provincial court Judge Harry Van Harten refused to send Crane to federal prison, instead he sentenced this thug to provincial jail time of two years, less time served, and probation.
The judge cited that the generational trauma that European society has caused to indigenous communities had to be addressed.
The bleeding-heart liberal Van Harten stated it in this distorted way:
“The history of colonialism has to be taken into account.”
Crane’s defense attorney also claimed that he suffers from fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS), which is caused by a fetus being exposed to alcohol consumption by the mother during pregnancy.
Unbelievably, the judge sided with the defense attorney and allowed Crane to take part in an FASD program in lieu of going to prison. Translation, this low life will only serve 14 months before he is back on the streets menacing an innocent public.
The global judicial system is obviously seriously flawed. Liberal judges treat court cases like catch and release fishing trips. These leftists need to be weeded out and dismissed, the safety of the general public is at stake.
