Perpetuating the Myth of the Modern White Supremacist

The left’s road to authoritarian rule is predicated on building a coalition of disparate groups that have three things in common: They are fearful, sanctimonious and believe they are victims. In order to reach the levels of piety and moral superiority that trigger mass activism, it’s essential for leadership to supply a steady flow of villains to disparage.

You see, woke leftists are significantly flawed people, and they’re locked into a continuous, desperate search for some sense of meaning and self-worth. In order to reinforce their belief that they are the “good” people, they must identify and denigrate the “bad” people because self-righteousness is subjective and can only be established by comparison.

That’s why the left works so hard to stigmatize the opposition and exaggerate transgressions. Notice how the woke mob swarms like a pack of rabid zombies whenever a populist utters something innocuous that can be twisted and exploited for political gain. Cancel culture isn’t really about canceling someone. It’s merely a byproduct of the mob tearing through the target of their scorn as they try to climb over each other to see who can draw the most attention to their faux outrage.

Still, out of all the people Woke targets, there is no one more reviled than the white supremacist. For decades, the left has made a cottage industry by stoking fears that white supremacists are everywhere, waiting silently in the shadows to put people of color back into chains and servitude.

The White Supremacist is a Dying Breed

The ideology of white supremacy was founded on the principle that lighter skinned people of European descent possessed an inherent intellectual, spiritual and physical superiority over those with darker skin. For most people who identified with white supremacy, the subtly of race was largely ignored.

These abhorrent beliefs took root in the 19th to the mid-20th century, and in America, they were most reflected by groups like the Ku Klux Klan (KKK), Aryan Nation and the American Nazi Party. Perhaps worse, the repugnant idea that minorities were inherently inferior was embraced by a large segment of white society, which tolerated horrible atrocities against people of color for many years.

Seizing on these injustices, several notable organizations sprang up to protect the rights of minorities and educate the general population in a way that exposed racial injustice, busted the myth of stereotypes and forced America to rethink its approach to race relations and its interpretation of the immortal phrase, “all men are created equal.”

And over time, things changed for the better.

In the 1920s, the KKK had over four million people nationwide. In 2022, it was estimated that the number had dwindled to about 5,000. The Aryan Nation once had chapters in 27 states. As of 2004, it had around 200 practicing members in three states.

A Crisis for Woke Leftists

Instead of celebrating a victory for humanity with these massive changes in public perception, woke leftists viewed this precipitous decline in the pool of white supremacists with alarm and trepidation. After all, if there were no more true racists to exploit for political gain, how would the left maintain its grip on minority communities? What if they were no longer able to stir up the embers of fear into a raging bonfire during every election cycle? Worse, what if minorities realized they were genuinely welcomed into the family of America and had nothing to fear? What if they started thinking for themselves?

Gasp… The left couldn’t allow that to happen.

So, devious leftists did what they always do: They moved the goalposts. A white supremacist is no longer someone who believes in the inherent superiority of the Caucasian race. Instead, anyone who doesn’t agree with the demands and outrageous positions of the woke left can get tagged with the label.

As far back as 2012, then Vice-President Biden told a mixed-race crowd that Mitt Romney would “put you all back in chains.”

Say what you will about wimpy, whiny, milk toast, RINO Republican Mitt Romney, but the idea that he’s a white supremist is absurd.

In more modern times, charges of racism are so routine, they hardly move the needle. When the low hanging fruit of people like David Duke was picked, sneaky leftists created terms like “systemic racism,” which is another way of claiming victimhood and accusing someone of being a white supremacist without providing any credible proof.

The media clogs the internet with so many stories of racism it numbs and desensitizes the mind. Here is one random, recent day of stories centered around supposed racial transgressions:

Again, that was just one random morning.

The Targets of Faux Racism Have had Enough

When you continually bombard a group of people with perpetual false, demeaning accusations, some of them will ultimately transform into the very thing they are accused of. Ordinary, hard-working Americans are growing increasingly tired of being bullied, insulted, brow beaten and ignored simply because they have a high concentration of skin lightening pheomelanin in their genetic composition.

As they struggle to pay their own bills, these people become outraged when they hear about reparations for those who have no artificial barriers to achievement, as evidenced by successful African-Americans like Larry Elder, Bob Johnson and Oprah Winfrey, who started with nothing and rose to great heights. Ironically, the media, government, woke influencers and corporate leaders are applying the exact same repressive and exclusionary tactics they condemned when minorities were the target. They are forcing white communities to withdraw from public discourse and create a subculture that’s disconnected from the broader American experience.

That can only lead to increased divisiveness and tension between different racial, religious and ethnic groups.

In other words, a woke leftist’s dream scenario…
