Vance Authors Federal Pediatric Sex-Change Ban Bill

This isn’t likely to pass, at least not this year, but it’s a hell of a good issue for Republicans to run on in House and Senate races in 2024. The Daily Caller reports that Sen. J.D. Vance has brought a bill that would ban sex changes for minors nationwide as most red states are currently doing…

Ohio Republican Sen. J.D. Vance will introduce legislation Tuesday that would ban gender reassignment surgeries for minors.

The Daily Caller first obtained a copy of the bill, which was originally introduced by Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene in the House of Representatives. The legislation titled the โ€œProtect Childrenโ€™s Innocence Actโ€ would charge any person who knowingly provided sex change surgeries, cross-sex hormones or puberty blockers to a minor with a Class C Felony, which could lead to a prison sentence of 10 to 25 years or a maximum fine of $250,000.

The legislation also prohibits all taxpayer-fundedย gender-affirming care, prohibits institutions of higher education from providing instruction on gender-affirming care and more.

โ€œUnder no circumstances should doctors be allowed to perform these gruesome, irreversible operations on underage children. With this legislation, we have an opportunity to save countless young Americans from a lifetime of suffering and regret. I want to thank Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene for leading on this issue, and I look forward to working with my Senate colleagues to protect children from these life-altering procedures,โ€ย Vanceย told the Caller before introducing the bill.

This is good stuff for a number of reasons. First, polling consistently shows that most Americans are firmly opposed to “gender-affirming care,” otherwise known as chemical castration and sex-change procedures, when it comes to minor children.

Secondly, the science is not on the side of the transgender crowd. Not with the fact that post-op transsexuals are nearly always incapable of an organism, and two in five of them will become suicidal. Most people are blissfully unaware of those two facts, much less the emerging evidence that the hormone bath required to maintain the “gender-affirmation” the trans crowd seeks will result in cancer.

To do this to children, and particularly to children who are confused about sexuality – very often as a result of perplexing cultural signals or outright parental misconduct, as in the case of the deranged “Munchausen Moms” who actively groom their children for transgenderism – is unconscionable. And with an explosion in trans kids which threatens the nation’s ability to maintain its population (you need well more than 90 percent of a population to be fertile and straight, or else those who are will have to have as many as three children per family in order to replace those who die), there is a national governmental interest in discouraging transgenderism among children.

Especially since the vast majority of kids suffering some form of gender confusion will grow out of it if properly mentored and treated.

Vance’s bill would provide space for that to happen.

It will also provide the American people with an opportunity to see exactly what the opposition to such a measure looks like. Those of us who have seen these debates at the state level can attest that it’s an eye-opener. It’s time we ripped off that Band-Aid in Congress, too.
