Lies, Protests and the Left’s Cycle of Rage

Ask any activist leftist why they participate in protest activities that annoyingly disrupt the lives of ordinary Americans, and you’ll repeatedly hear the phrase “I want to make a difference.”

You see, leftists start from the premise that the U.S., and most industrialized democracies for that matter, are evil, exploitive and racist. To remedy these inequities, woke leftists believe they must “make a difference” by punishing those who are innovative, motivated and productive and rewarding those who are lazy or intellectually incapable of contributing to the advancement of society.

It’s really that simple.

Manufacturing an Enemy

At the heart of the leftist machinery is the need for an enemy. To fit the profile, the adversary must be in a position of influence and espouse policies and ideas that don’t align with leftist authoritarian aims. The degree of effort they exert, both monetarily and intellectually, to destroy that person will be in direct proportion to the threat they represent to the movement.

Once the smear campaign starts, it can be brutal. Since the president has the bully pulpit, Democrats reserve their most sleazy dirty tricks for Republican presidential candidates and officeholders. Most Republicans shrink from the challenge, choosing to be less despised by the left rather than risking their wrath by trying to accomplish anything meaningful.

A villain gives the left someone to compare themselves to. It allows them to bleed sanctimony and self-righteousness on the cross of the pious. If the villain is advocating for common sense and the general welfare instead of the plight of one disadvantaged illegal alien, well, that makes him (or her) Hitler and the compassionate woke leftists Mother Teresa by comparison.

The left is addicted to that smug feeling of superiority.

The Left Finds Its Darth Vader

In the history of the leftist movement, there is no greater villain than Donald Trump. To say the left despises him is entirely inadequate. They hate him with every centimeter of their collective souls.

First, he stepped onto the national political scene at the exact moment hardcore leftists had America on the ropes. They were so close to legitimizing illegal immigration, transgenderism, socialism, DEI, CRT, cultural erasure, child mutilation, suppression of free speech and other gross cultural and economic perversities, they felt emboldened enough to come out of the shadows and declare their authoritarian aims.

Then Trump showed up and spoiled the whole thing.

How Lies and Protests Form the Left’s Cycle of Rage

At first, the left dismissed Trump. They laughed and ridiculed him on social media and late-night talk shows. Their arrogance proved to be their downfall.

When Trump won in 2016, and when he made his intentions to run in 2024 known, the left realized their hubris had led to vulnerability, and so they threw the kitchen sink at him. This included a fake Russia collusion scandal, two bogus impeachments, an attempt to destroy his businesses, a silent coup attempt, a phony classified documents charge, an insurrection charge, and conviction on 34 felonies in a kangaroo court. When all that failed, Trump was the victim of two very suspicious assassination attempts.

Despite all their efforts, America connected with Trump. He won two elections (probably three) over an eight-year period, and if he came into 2017 with a hammer, in 2025, he brought a wrecking ball.

Throughout all the lawfare and weaponized judiciary efforts, and even through the assassination attempts, the left seethed, grew angrier, and a pattern developed. It didn’t matter if any of the charges leveled against Trump were true, only that they gained enough traction to result in his removal from office and the public square. If facts emerged that contradicted the Trump-is-Hitler narrative, legacy media buried them, or at the least, ignored them completely.

This has resulted in a kind of vicious, escalating cycle of increasingly outlandish assertions that woke leftists accept as unexamined truth because it fuels their rage like nitrous fuels a dragster.

Stuff like Trump is kidnapping American citizens:

MAGA is a fascist cult.

Trump is taking away people’s healthcare:

And on, and on, and on…

So, amped up on hate and rage, what do leftists do to let off steam? They protest. Sometimes it’s peaceful, and sometimes it’s violent, but the question is, why do they bother? It doesn’t change anything. Trump is going to continue to carry out the same agenda he was elected on to the extent the courts and Congress will allow him.

However, woke leftists leave these idiotic protests like “No Kings Day” feeling satisfied. Deep down, they must know Trump isn’t a fascist, king or any of the labels they slap on him. If he was a fascist dictator, protesters would be thrown into a work camp or worse instead of standing on our street corner with embarrassing signs printed with Soros money. If Trump was king, the government wouldn’t be shut down, and Schumer, Pelosi, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama would probably be in gulags.

Apparently, the irony is lost on the protesters.

But they leave the pointless gatherings, patting each other on the back and convincing themselves they are all that stands between Trump and his monarchy. When the protest ends, it’s time to resume their local group meetings where they can rile each other up and once again begin to prime the rage pump. After all, there’s surely another protest coming soon.

You see, it’s a never-ending cycle of rage and protests, and for leftists, it makes them believe they’re “making a difference.” And truthfully, they really may be making a difference. Every street they block means someone is late for work or school. Every business they firebomb can’t sell its products to its customers. Every dollar they squeeze from hard working Americans means more money for people who refuse to work and less for the people who earned it.

Yeah, woke leftists are making a difference alright…
