Nikki Haley Expresses Fatigue Over Trump Indictment Drama

For several months, I have been telling anyone who will listen that the left’s push to eliminate Donald Trump as a viable presidential candidate is based on the successful effort against Sherriff Joe Arpaio in Arizona.

To briefly recap, Arpaio was the wildly successful Sherriff of Maricopa County who held office for 24 years. Every election was a landslide victory for “America’s Toughest Sherriff,” at least until 2016, when he was soundly defeated by a moderate opponent. Arpaio crossed an unspoken line in the sand when his department started rounding up illegal aliens for deportation because the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) refused to do its job. Democrats always hated Arpaio because of his no nonsense approach to law enforcement and incarceration, but Republicans tolerated the Sherriff because he was so popular with the base.

However, when Arpaio started raiding businesses that employed aliens, it was a bridge too far for the Arizona Republican donor class, comprised of prominent business owners who liked the cheap labor. Ultimately, Arpaio had over 6000 civil and criminal complaints levied against him that cost over $100 million to defend.

As the legal bills mounted, weak-kneed Republicans began to express their frustration and exhaustion over the endless lawsuits and the unrelenting Arpaio drama. Over time, the left’s strategy started to work. Ultimately, Arpaio lost much of his core support and was convicted of criminal contempt before Trump pardoned him. Arpaio went on to run for several different offices, including Maricopa County Sherriff, but lost badly in every election. He even lost a race for mayor in the small suburb where he lived.

In essence, the left had ruined Arpaio through litigation.

Sound familiar?

Exhausted Republicans?

There is no doubt that RINO Republicans and leftist Democrats are in soft collusion on the subject of the Trump 2024 candidacy. Democrats display outright hostility and hatred, while Republicans squirm with the uncomfortable dilemma of wanting Trump gone without alienating his massive base.

So, it was predictable that as the third major criminal indictment based on the fake January 6th “insurrection” was handed down, the second phase of the effort to cancel Trump would begin, just as it did for Arpaio. Bear in mind, Trump now faces a whopping 78 criminal counts between the different pending cases with more on the way.

This part of the process requires prominent, disloyal Republicans to step forward and express their dismay over the focus of the election centering on Trump’s legal problems. Expect to hear the words “exhausted” and “drama” used a lot once the Georgia indictment drops.

That’s why it was no surprise that double dealing Nikki Haley emerged from obscurity recently to express those exact sentiments.

“Like most Americans, I’m tired of commenting on every Trump drama. I’ve lost track of whether this indictment is the third or fourth or the fifth,” Haley said.

In a Bloomberg article titled, “Are Republicans Tired of the Trump Show Yet?” the editors remind us that “even among Republicans, hope for a decisive break with Trump isn’t lost.”

A “close DeSantis advisor” (unnamed) reportedly commented: “It’s a shitshow. Some donors are getting sick of the shitshow.”

Manufactured Voter Fatigue

The 2024 election is still more than a year away, so expect to see more of this kind of rhetoric as the campaign heats up and the election cycle goes into overdrive. The Georgia indictment will probably fall sometime in late 2023 if the Democrats remain consistent in their timeline. Of course, that could change if there is any movement in the Biden bribery, influence peddling, money laundering and racketeering case. In an odd coincidence, in each of the indictments, Trump just happened to be served the day after major news of Biden’s corruption was revealed.

In any event, remember that Democrats are looking to exploit any hint of Trump vulnerability. Whether it’s a dip in the polls, a less-than-expected fundraising report or the defection of a significant supporter, expect the media to play up any angle related to waning voter support due to fatigue, drama and exhaustion. They want to convince you that everyone feels that way.

After all, it worked on Arpaio…
