Follow-up on “The LCMS and Gatekeeping Conservative Christians”

Back in March, I wrote an article here on RVIVR about my Christian denomination: the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS). A confessional Lutheran blog called Gottesdienst shared my article at that time, so my RVIVR article gained some traction and furthered the conversation about the issues within the LCMS. For anyone who haven’t read the older article before, the older article discussed how the the pseudo-“Conservative” leaders of the LCMS allowed Leftists to infiltrate the Church body.
In last month’s edition of Chronicles Magazine, the young Conservative writer Ryan Turnipseed published an intriguing piece about the LCMS and his experience with the LCMS’s “gatekeeping” leadership. I definitely recommend his article because it sheds light on the subversion of American Christianity in even supposed “Conservative” church bodies.
At the beginning of this year, Turnipseed and other faithful Lutherans on social media pointed out the heretical teachings in the LCMS’s annotated edition of Luther’s Large Catechism. This commentary included essays supporting Critical Race Theorist (CRT), affirming transgenderism, and criticizing the 2nd Amendment.
Despite the obvious controversy, LCMS President Matt Harrison disregarded the obvious theological issues within this annotated edition and allowed for it to be published. This document is currently available for purchase on the Concordia Publishing House website–the LCMS’s official publishing house.
Unfortunately, the moderates, Liberals, and “gatekeeping pseudo-Conservatives” in the LCMS punished Turnipseed and other Lutherans for their reasonable disagreements. What’s worse is that President Harrison essentially smeared dissenters as “racists” through an official letter back in February.
Turnipseed’s story shows us that Leftists have subverted American Christianity, and we cannot stand idly by anymore. We must stand for the truth and for Christ in these trying times.
Many American patriots want to take back our nation from our current, illegitimate Regime. However, we need to start first with taking back America’s key civil institutions–American Christianity in particular.
To close out today’s article, I included the closing excerpt from Turnipseed’s article:
“The old conservative leadership of many denominations has shown itself to be treacherous and willing to purge their congregations in order to gain mainstream prestige. Let my story serve as a wake-up call. I know that I am not the only Christian to be subjected to this kind of treatment, nor will I be the last. Traditionalists who want their churches to weather this storm must stand ready and stand together. Dispel your faith in the institutions, unseat the faithless, worldly conservatives, and should the circumstance require it, be prepared to replace them by building lasting communities of faithful men.“
