New Orleans Proves Why USPS Shouldn’t Handle Mail-in-Ballots

A recent case out of New Orleans proves yet again why voting-by-mail is stupid, moronic and dangerous.

New Orleans resident Dazmon Dyer, a former United States Postal Service (USPS) employee pleaded guilty this month in federal court to delaying and stealing the U.S. mail.

“Dyer stole U.S. currency and gift cards from First-Class mail which had come into his possession and intended to be delivered by him as a U.S. Postal Service employee,” according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

OK, this wasn’t during a New Orleans election and the guy wasn’t busted stealing mail that contained other people’s votes. But if he would steal money and gift cards from other people then what’s to stop him from stealing other people’s mailed-in ballots?

I repeat…voting-by-mail is stupid, moronic and dangerous.

Many USPS employees vote Democrat.

Yes, New Orleans is full of grifters and thieves, especially when they work for the government. But the USPS is full of thieves nationwide.

In June a USPS clerk in Maryland used her position to obtain other people’s private information. She then stole thousands of dollars.

That woman, Breanna Lee Cartledge, wrongfully accessed USPS money orders and individual pieces of mail to pull off these crimes. Cartledge had co-conspirators, whom U.S. Attorneys did not identify.

“For example, after a co-conspirator texted Cartledge requesting pictures of checks, Cartledge sent the co-conspirator images of at least nine separate money orders or checks that contained personal identifying information with the intent that the information be used to create fake checks to steal from victim accounts,” U.S. Attorneys said.

Cartledge negotiated a counterfeit check fraudulently drawn for $4,900 from the account of one victim. The victim’s bank reversed the transaction.

Cartledge pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire fraud.

As RIVR reported in April, a USPS worker in Georgia accepted bribes from a drug trafficker. He hand-delivered cocaine and marijuana along his mail route, on taxpayer time.

That man, Robert Sheppard, 61, later had to take disability leave from the postal service. He recruited his co-workers to take over for him.

And we want people of such low moral caliber handling and then turning in other people’s voting ballots?

Congress designed the USPS to operate as a self-sustaining entity that, like a business, would cover its operating costs primarily with revenues from selling certain products and services. In Fiscal Year (FY) 2007, however, postal service expenses began exceeding its revenue.

As the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) reported in 2021, this has led to total net losses of $87 billion from FY 2007 through 2020, and $188 billion in total unfunded liabilities and debt.

The GAO recommends that Congress consider “fundamentally reexamining key aspects of postal service in the United States.”

The USPS cannot even sustain itself financially, which explains why employees favor big government/reckless spending Democrats (not that Republicans these days are much better, at least in their actions and not their words).

I say again… voting-by-mail is stupid, moronic and dangerous.

The people who work for supposed watchdog media and the supposed Department of Justice (DOJ) insist there is no evidence that voting-by-mail leads to voter fraud. But we know by now that both institutions are biased, corrupt and favor Democrats.

We cannot take the media or the DOJ at their word.

If one or more credible sources presented them with solid proof that voting-by-mail causes voter fraud that benefits Democrats, then we all know they would look the other way and say nothing.

End vote-by-mail.

If you’re going to vote then you need to prove you are who you say you are…at a polling station….and with a government-issued ID.

Otherwise, the same people who label every Republican presidential candidate as the second coming of Hitler will find unethical and illegal ways to defeat Hitler.

After all, when it comes to defeating Hitler, then the ends justify the means, do they not?
