Tucker on X: So Much Truth on Ukraine, Israel, and Beyond
If you are looking to hear some level-headed analysis of the wars in Ukraine, the Middle East, and Afghanistan, the first ten minutes of Tucker Carlson’s Episode 37 is a gold mine.
One quick comment I do want to make is that it is important to understand that the common ground Carlson and Glenn Greenwald make between Ukraine and Israel is not strictly kinetic war-related. I see a lot of rebuttals to this theoretical line of thinking, but I’m not sure that they are rebuttals based in actual reality. I haven’t seen anyone claim that the two wars are alike in a kinetic way, on the surface. There are indeed fundamental differences, and that’s not the point to the conversation Carlson and Greenwald are having anyway.
What I have seen, and what I have written on time and time again, is the similarities in the attitudes and behaviors of American conservatives–well-meaning patriots–concerning this country’s place in the world, its supposed vision of the noble path, and its assumed responsibility in sending billions and trillions of taxpayer money to fund wars that have no end or Godly purpose in sight. Conservatives were split on these issues with Ukraine, and they are split on these issues with Israel. The national discourse could be viewed as Right vs Left, but there are so many factions forming inside each of those tribes that it would benefit all Americans to keep an open ear. After all, many commentators–called conspiracy theorists and Putin sympathizers back then–were saying from the start that the Ukraine saga was all propaganda, money-laundering, and NATO expansion, and lo and behold, they are being proven correct in that assessment as we speak.
Admittedly, I did not watch beyond the ten-minute mark because I was wanting only to post some type of summative material on Ukraine as that saga ends and Americans find themselves embroiled in yet another war of words and ideals concerning the Middle East.
I invite you to follow Glenn Greenwald on X. The post below is a perfect example of the binary trap, either-or thinking I’ve been writing on. This is the dilemma for conservatives. We have to stop eating our own–like the brilliant and talented Greenwald–just because they bring necessary nuance to the discussion and don’t believe in simply bombing planet Earth indiscriminately. Forgive my hyperbole; I’m purposely sounding like “SpikeMikeSD” to make a point. Binary thinking, unless it involves the fundamental two of good and evil, is dangerous and destructive to political discourse. It is amazing that so many of us can be so rigid with something like world war and “Team A” vs “Team B” but we’ll do mental gymnastics and summon our inner-novelist to create shades of meaning, interpretation, and morals concerning the slaughtering of babies in abortion.
God forgive us. But I digress….
One more source for summative material on Ukraine is this article I wrote a few weeks ago. Its title: “The Lie Is Happening Now. It is a good thing that citizen soldiers like Glenn Greenwald and Tucker Carlson are giving small-timers like me a leg to stand on in this information war.
May everyone named directly or referenced indirectly ask forgiveness and do penance for their sins against America and God. I fight this information war in the spirit of justice and love for the innocent, but I have been reminded of the need for mercy and prayers for our enemies. I am a sinner in need of redemption as well after all, for my sins are many. In the words of Jesus Christ himself, Lord forgive us all, for we know not what we do.
