Half Of All Buick Dealers Say, No Thanks to EV’s

The left’s delusions are coming back to haunt them. The same people that despise the idea of mining coal, or fracking for natural gas, think nothing about decimating large areas of land searching for minerals to create lithium batteries. The fact that the average American can’t afford them, far less maintain them, is totally ignored by the radical left Democrats. I have been saying for years that the so called “climate change myth” has absolutely nothing to do with the climate or the ridiculous idea that the earth needs saving. However, it does have everything to do with the redistribution of wealth and widening the gap between the elites and those that they consider to be peasants, us, the average Americans.

General Motors (GM) is learning that lesson in a big way. Despite all the loud talk about converting all cars to electric by 2035, it isn’t going to happen. In fact, it’s never going to happen. While thousands of these overpriced fire bombs sit idle on dealer’s lots all over the country, car manufacturers with their heads buried in the sand or other orifices, are still lying to America.

That said, the Wall Street Journal recently reported that half of all Buick dealerships across the country have decided to take a buyout from GM rather than spending the millions of dollars that it would take to retool, restructure and retrain their staff to accommodate EV sales and maintenance. Part of the Irony of the GM situation is that they made a massive investment in China to build their mid-size SUV. China, as you know, is the largest polluter in the world by a wide margin.

According to the Wall Street Journal:

General Motors (GM) has bought out about half of its 2,000 Buick dealers nationwide, based on their decision to not sell electric vehicles, according to a company spokesman Wednesday.

Dealers who are taking the buyout would give up the Buick franchise and no longer sell the brand, he said. The dealer can continue to sell other GM models, such as Chevrolet or GMC, that often account for a higher percentage of sales.

The Wall Street Journal reported in late 2022 that the automaker planned to offer buyouts to its U.S. Buick dealer network. The move came after the Detroit automaker gave the dealers a choice: Invest at least $300,000 to sell and service electric vehicles or exit the Buick franchise. The investments would cover EV chargers and worker training, among other initiatives.

Everything about an EV is more expensive than a gas-powered vehicle. The original price notwithstanding, maintenance costs are outrages, as are replacement parts and the insurance. The battery alone in most cases is more expensive than the entire cost of the vehicle.

Like the “plandemic” that the government used to exert power over Americans by enforcing masks and lockdowns, this is meant to control the publics transportation choices. The Biden administration’s foolish pursuit of this folly is not being done to correct anything about the climate, but the linings of many pockets belonging to those advancing this lie will be considerably more padded.
