The Star Trek Episode That Predicted Joe Biden’s Presidency (and Six Other Random Thoughts)

Random thoughts concerning the past week:

• Star Trek, Season Two, Episode 21, Patterns of Force, prophesied the Biden presidency: Captain Kirk, Spock, and Dr. McCoy beam down to a planet full of Nazi thugs and learn the president there was really just a drugged-up puppet/figurehead under the influence of people with malevolent intentions. This president went on TV only to read scripts prepared by people who weren’t accountable to anybody.

• Joe Biden sounded drunk as he delivered this year’s State of the Union address. He slurred his words. He sounded like he had rocks in his mouth. A more dignified speech could have been delivered by the character Bobcat Goldthwait played in the Police Academy movies.

• The Republican response to the 2024 State of the Union speech, as delivered by U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL), was extremely theatrical and over the top. Political experts said it was meant only to appeal only to female voters. I would think, however, that most women would find not the speech but, instead, her delivery, either patronizing or insulting to their intelligence.

• The Daily Show was only worth watching when Craig Kilborn hosted it. But that was 25 years ago. Times have changed

• This is how far we’ve fallen as a Republic. High school students in Oklahoma are sucking adults’ toes now for a school fundraiser.

• The new book White Rural Rage: The Threat to American Democracy is popular with the left right now. The authors think white conservative Christians caused all of America’s problems. I’m certain college professors nationwide will make this book mandatory reading for their students. Warn your children to expect this. Or, if it’s too late, please try to deprogram them.

• As I said last week, Nikki Haley couldn’t read the temperature of the room if her life depended on it. This is what happens when a politician pays elite political consultants to advise him/her. These consultants have their heads up their collective a$$es and live in sheltered, gated communities and have no idea what goes on with real people. Haley should have listened to the grassroots…instead of trying to pander to the snobs at CNN. Now, (a) she’ll never be president and (b) America dodged a bullet.
