O.J. Simpson, April 15, Transgenders, Ted Kennedy, the Rapture….and Other Random Thoughts

Random thoughts concerning the past two weeks:

• Tomorrow is April 15. Whether you’re poor or whether you’re rich, if you participate in some government program that I have to pay for that I neither partake in nor benefit from then the least you can do is offer to come clean my house. It’s called gratitude.

• Natural causes. Doing to O.J. Simpson what the State of California, a strapped in chair, and 3,000 volts of electricity should have done 30 years ago.

• Should Christians trust atheists to take care of our dogs if and when the Rapture occurs in our lifetimes? My pastor has never once discussed this!

• The Nashville School shooting happened a year ago. The shooter was, of course, a woman who supposedly transitioned into a man and took testosterone injections to do it. Any man will tell you that testosterone is something we had to learn to control over a period of years, if not decades. That’s why teenage boys do stupid stuff and have low impulse control. You inject a naturally born female with that stuff over a short time span….and it’s no surprise the shooter got violent and aggressive.

• The whole Ronna McDaniel/NBC thing reminds me of a quote from William F. Buckley: “Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views.”

• Ted Kennedy was credited as coming up the concept for what eventually became known as Obamacare. This month is the 14th anniversary of Barack Obama signing that legislation into law. Obamacare, I personally believe, was Ted Kennedy’s oddball way to atone for all of his infidelities, for being a raging drunk, and for that awful thing he did to Mary Jo Kopechne at Chappaquiddick in 1969. Unfortunately, to assuage Kennedy’s guilt, a lot of honest middle-class people lost their preferred health insurance and have to pay more money now for fewer benefits.
