Bungling Biden has Us Slip Slidin’ into WW3

There are many examples of Joe Biden’s failed policy, but there is nothing that surpasses the ill-conceived proxy war in Ukraine in terms of the potential for a catastrophic result.

Ultimately, open borders may destroy our societal identity. Irresponsible deficit spending will likely lead to a deep recession. Lax crime policies continue to turn our once great cities into dystopian nightmares. Misguided energy policies may lead to a continued erosion of freedom and contribute to the ascendence of China as the primary global power.

Yet, all these horrific outcomes pale in comparison to what is potentially facing us if Biden wins a second term and continues to unwittingly bungle his way into World War 3.

Those who have experienced the cognitive decline of a loved one know the stages. Perhaps the most distressing point in the process is when it’s obvious that something is “off,” but you can’t put your finger on exactly what it is. In many cases, the most telling sign is an inability to engage in second-level thought. In other words, the person can understand the problem but has difficulty reasoning out a sound solution. This is especially true if the problem is complex and the possible solutions carry unintended consequences.

Which brings us to the Ukraine proxy war.

There are numerous articles on rvivr.com that spell out various aspects of our involvement, including U.S. complicity, the enormity of the expense, and the potential for catastrophic outcomes if the war continues.

Ukraine Can’t Win and Biden Can’t Afford to Lose

It is well-documented at this point that Ukraine is not going to win the war. The raw truth is that they simply do not have enough people to fight against a relentless aggressor whose own infrastructure largely remains off limits. The reality is Ukraine’s defensive lines are collapsing, and their forces are in an almost constant state of retreat.

As of November 2023, the average age of a Ukrainian soldier was 43 years old. This is up from 30 years old when the war began in 2022. There are no current reports of recent age creep, but if we extrapolate, Ukraine will be fighting with 60-year-old soldiers by 2025.

As if this wasn’t bad enough, Ukraine does not have an effective air force, and until recently, they were prohibited from launching attacks into Russia. As a result, Russian troops were able to secure significant gains in Donbas, Donetsk and Kharkiv during the spring. With the U.S. Congress grid locked over additional aid to Ukraine, which already stood at $100 billion, the future looked bleak, not only for Ukraine, but for Joe Biden.

You see, a victory for Russia in Ukraine prior to the U.S. presidential election would spell certain defeat for Biden in November. Not only would it be a huge embarrassment, but it would shine a spotlight on the billions pissed away on the proxy war sinkhole. Fortunately for Slow Joe, in a suspicious turn of events, Hamas terrorists attacked Israel, which resulted in Congress passing a military aid bill that included the $60 billion Ukraine needs to fend off Russia at least until after the election. In fact, Biden can’t even allow the perception that Ukraine is losing to become a campaign issue.

Slip Slidin’ Biden

Even with the aid package, there is no way of knowing how long Ukraine can hold off Russia. Every day, Russian tactics become more sophisticated, including the use of glide bombs, which are cheap, older Soviet era munitions retrofitted with fixed wings and GPS navigation. Better tactics and weapons tailored specifically for use against Ukraine have yielded positive results. It took Russia a year to obliterate Bakhmut, a few months to annihilate Avdiivka, and only weeks to level Vovchansk and Chasiv Yar. Russia is becoming more adept at killing Ukrainian soldiers and destroying its cities, and that’s bad news for Biden and NATO.

Apparently, these bombs are being delivered by aircraft taking off from bases inside Russia, all within 100 miles of Ukraine. So, what do you think Biden’s response was?

Exactly as was predicted before the war began and the U.S. became involved, Biden agreed to escalate. In order to deal with the glide bomb threat, Biden has authorized Ukraine to launch attacks directly on Russian soil with American weapons.

“The president recently directed his team to ensure that Ukraine is able to use US supplied-weapons for counterfire purposes in Kharkiv so Ukraine can hit back at Russian forces hitting them or preparing to hit them,” a White house official said.

NATO allies were quick to follow suit, and French President Emmanuel Macron went even farther, declaring that Ukraine was authorized to target bases inside Russia with long-range missiles.

“We think that we should allow them to neutralize the military sites from which the missiles are fired and, basically, the military sites from which Ukraine is attacked,” Macron said.

The Escalation Cycle has Begun

On Monday, the Russian Foreign Minister summoned the American ambassador to protest the use of U.S. advanced missiles in a Ukrainian attack on Crimea, which reportedly killed four people and injured 150 others.

The ministry issued a statement that claimed Washington “has effectively become a party” to the war and that “retaliatory measures will certainly follow.”

In the latest arms delivery, and for the first time, the U.S. provided 20 advanced High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) with the promise of 18 more, along with two NASAMS surface-to-air missile systems. But for Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy, that’s not nearly enough. He continues to press for the Army Tactical Missile System known as ATACMS, which has a range of 180 miles. In another sign of escalation, Ukraine is preparing for the arrival of 93 F-16s, which have the capacity to strike deep into Russian territory.

So, what could possibly go wrong?

We are on a treacherous path that can only end in global catastrophe if the U.S. continues its provocative policy. If this tit for tat escalation continues, it is only a matter of time before Putin authorizes the use of a tactical nuclear weapon in Ukraine. At that point, all bets are off. This is not the Cuban missile crisis where slow-moving ships provide leaders with days to resolve the conflict. One retaliatory hypersonic nuclear missile targeting a NATO country whose military hardware was used to attack air bases inside Russia would mean the end of humanity as we know it.

Putin has said repeatedly that he’s not bluffing. There is no acceptable outcome for Russia except the annexation of the territories they demanded before the war began. Is this war truly in America’s interests? Are you willing to gamble the future of the planet on Slow Joe’s mental acuity? Is his re-election worth this game of chicken we’re playing with nuclear armed Russia?

Let’s pray the situation does not spin out of control before November.
