Capital Punishment Keeps Our Society From Falling Apart

โ€œThere is no terror in the bang, only in the anticipation of it.โ€ โ€” Alfred Hitchcock

According to witnesses, when Ted Bundy was being escorted to Floridaโ€™s electric chair his legs trembled so hard he needed help walking. Before guards strapped him into Old Sparky, they literally had to carry him to the execution chamber. Bundy appeared genuinely frightened.

Yes, I favor capital punishment….110%.

I would rather people on death row experience those same few moments or โ€” better yet โ€” hours of terror that they inflicted upon their victims. I would rather they experience that than spend the rest of their lives in a cell, at taxpayer expense, (supposedly) โ€œthinking about what they did.โ€

And while weโ€™re at it, bring back the chair. Itโ€™s a lot less humane than a lethal injection. And that’s what we want. Weโ€™re not putting down an unhealthy or wounded animal.

Weโ€™re putting down a murderer.

And this gets me to the crap that President Joe Biden pulled last week, two days before Christmas. Biden, in a statement, announced he would commute the sentences of 37 of the 40 individuals on federal death row to life sentences without the possibility of parole.

โ€œThese commutations are consistent with the moratorium my Administration has imposed on federal executions, in cases other than terrorism and hate-motivated mass murder,โ€ Biden said in a statement.

โ€œMake no mistake: I condemn these murderers, grieve for the victims of their despicable acts and ache for all of the families who have suffered unimaginable and irreparable loss.โ€ Biden said he is now โ€œmore convinced than ever that we must stop the use of the death penalty at the federal level.โ€

โ€œIn good conscience, I cannot stand back and let a new administration resume executions that I halted,โ€ Biden added.

On second thought, letโ€™s be honest, Biden didnโ€™t write that statement. He didnโ€™t pass down that order. One of his staff members wrote all of it and passed it on to Biden for him to sign.

DEATH WISH

The whole point of having a justice system is so that (a) we can establish facts (b) the wrongfully accused and even the guilty may have a proper defense and (c) the punishments meted out to the guilty are in proper proportion to the crime committed.

And if weโ€™re going to live in a society where the justice system is lenient on unrepentant killers, rapists, child molesters, etc. then whatโ€™s the point of getting the law involved when we can just Paul Kersey our way out of these problems?

Thereโ€™s no repressing our emotions when it comes to the murder of a friend or loved one. The execution of a convicted murderer after a reasonable series of appeals may not bring back that friend or loved one, but, I argue, will make the victimsโ€™ friends and families feel better.

I donโ€™t want to live in a world where Death Wish plays out in the streets every single day. Perhaps the liberals who run the justice system should stop playing patty-cake with violent felons!

Itโ€™s just a thought anywayโ€ฆ..

Capital punishment for the win.
