DOGE Uncovers Social Insecurity

There is a line being highlighted between conservatives and liberals. The line has always existed, but the differences were never more significant than under the Biden administration. The line is not singular. It has many nuances that become pronounced from time to time. Right now, one of the strangest aspects between the left and the right is showing its ugly head again. A faction of the country is upset over the waste that DOGE exposes.

To anyone who can reason, this manner of thought is not only illogical but also reckless. Anyone who can justify the crime over the exposure of that crime is only lying to themselves. The excuse that the liberals are using to shield these crimes is pathetically weak. Rather than being disgusted by what has been uncovered, they are focusing on the man in charge of the department doing the uncovering.

Say what you want about Elon Musk; he is a rock-solid businessperson and has assembled a team to do nothing but look for waste. What they have exposed to this point should infuriate every American citizen. Despite the delays, denials, and roadblocks the left has used to shield the corruption, DOGE is doing what it was created to do.

An old expression says, “Be careful what you wish for; you just may get it.” Americans have always known that deep corruption and waste exist in the government. Now that we finally get a peek behind the curtain, too many citizens are turning away. Pretending that what is being exposed and still happening isn’t real will not stop it. For actual changes to occur, the problems that need to be corrected must be identified; then corrective measures can be taken.

On Sunday, Musk posted on X that there are hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of Americans listed as alive in the Social Security databases who have likely been dead for quite some time.

The database contained over 1.3 million individuals aged between 150 and 159, nearly 122,000 between 160 and 169, and over 6,000 individuals aged between 170 and 179. Additionally, a few thousand more people were aged between 180 and 229, indicating that they were born well before the Civil War

In his post, Musk said:

“According to the Social Security database, these are the numbers of people in each age bucket with the death field set to FALSE!”

“Maybe Twilight is real, and there are a lot of vampires collecting Social Security.”

One person was listed on the Social Security rolls as between 240 and 249 years old, and another was between 360 and 369 years old. This means there is supposedly one American alive who witnessed the republic’s earliest days and another who was born during the colonial era.

Musk did not disclose whether those reported senior citizens are still receiving payments, but he is skeptical about what this revelation indicates regarding the reliability of our bureaucracy.

“There are FAR more ‘eligible’ social security numbers than there are citizens in the USA. This might be the biggest fraud in history.”

At the very least, the Social Security Administration has neglected its responsibilities, failing to maintain its records effectively.

In the worst-case scenario, taxpayers are currently paying millions to individuals impersonating long-deceased Americans, highlighting one of the largest frauds ever recorded.

The government has openly siphoned off Social Security funds for decades to fund other endeavors. This money should never have been touched. Hardworking Americans have paid into Social Security for years, with the guarantee of having the money available for them when they retire.

That injustice has now been intensified by either deliberate or incredibly irresponsible bookkeeping. The mistakes are so blatantly obvious that IMHO, I’m leaning towards deliberate incompetence.

As Musk reported, the amount of waste has not yet been calculated. Although it appears the amount could be staggering. This money, like all of the waste DOGE has uncovered, did not evaporate into thin air. Someone took it and benefitted from the theft. Phase two of DOGE needs to be tracking down those responsible and punishing them for their crimes.
