The Saturday Protests Against Trump Again Show the President’s Opposition has no Coherent Message

The Democratic party is an entity that represents nobody and no ideas. While the President is focused on exactly what he ran on, securing the border, rebuilding the middle class, and projecting strength to stabilize regions around the world, Trump’s opposition remains dividend and devoid of any clear message. The core message of Harris and the Democratic party in 2024 was that the 47th President and his MAGA movement represented a threat to Democracy, which was a pivot from the claim that the President was a white nationalist or racist, the main argument against him in the 2016 and 2020 Presidential races. With Trump winning an electoral landslide and the popular vote, the left can no longer say the President is racist or a threat to Democracy, because that argument would imply the American people fit those pejoratives.

After George Floyd’s tragic death there were absurd and violent riots that the left and their radical allies in the media attempted to describe as protests. While these efforts were not peaceful and the message of the individuals in the streets was absurd, the messaging of left-wing groups in 2020 was still clear and focused on terms such as social justice. The recent national protests that remain fairly limited in size had no coherent talking points. The Democratic party has been divided since Trump regained power, with the fight between moderates such as Senator Schumer and more radical congresswomen such as AOC spilling into the open when the minority leader refused to shut down the government last month.

The Saturday protests also showed that the Democratic party and the left are lost in how to frame their opposition to the 47th President. Trump’s opposition has attempted to claim that he is cutting benefits to pay for tax cuts for billionaires, a complete and absurd lie, since the President just wants to make permanent his previous tax reform policy, the President is not pushing for new reductions in taxation rates. There has also been an equally pathetic claim that Trump is taking away rights, another incorrect and completely false argument. The President is doing exactly what he ran on, he’s focused on returning power to the Americans and rebuilding the middle class, and opposing that agenda is both counterintuitive and absurd. Trump’s opposition can’t argue against any of his core policy positions on the border, the economy, or foreign policy, so the left continues to do what these radicals have done for a decade, gaslight and lie. The meaningless label the left used to describe the Saturday protest was hands-off.

The public demonstrations over the weekend as usual were clearly organized and well-financed. The left enjoys the billionaires financing the opposition to Trump while still railing against Musk’s smaller financial contributions to Republican and conservative causes. Still, there remains no consistent messaging by the Democrats or the left. After Floyd passed away Trump’s opposition focused on what these individuals call social justice, and after Roe was overturned in 2021 the Democrats claimed Trump was taking away rights. These were both incoherent talking points, but they were examples of clear political messaging. Today, there are no remotely sensical talking or logical messaging coming from the President’s opposition.

The American people sent a clear message to Washington D.C. in November of 2024. The public wants the Democrats and Republicans to work together, and the country supports Trump and his policy agenda. The approval rating of the Democratic party today is below 30 percent, the country supports the 47th President and his values. Indeed, while the left will continue to promote absurd and false information, these radicals have also lost control of the narrative with Musk’s purchase of Twitter and the decline of the influence of the corrupt legacy media. Trump’s opposition can continue to gaslight and lie, but until the Democratic party begins to actually listen to a country that overwhelmingly supported the President and the Republican party in November, the left will remain nothing more than opposition to those in power.
