What Goes Around, … Leftist Teacher “Dismissed” For “Dismissing” Parental Authority

The left has warped American society to the extent that some radical schoolteachers believe that it’s their duty and their right to overrule the parents of children they are being paid to teach. These teachers are not there to interfere with any child’s sexuality. They are not there to expose, suggest, or otherwise facilitate any type of alternative lifestyle.

There has to be a first for everything, and a meddling Florida school teacher has become the first to lose her job because she continued to use a student’s preferred name without their parents’ consent. This is the first known teacher to be fired under a state law implemented last school year.

Melissa Calhoun, a teacher at Satellite High School in Brevard County, was informed that her contract will not be renewed for the upcoming year. According to district officials, this decision came after she addressed a student by a different name without obtaining a signed consent form from the student’s parents.

Brevard Public Schools supports parents’ rights as primary decision-makers for their children, and Florida law upholds their right to be informed, district spokesperson Janet Murnaghan told The Post in a statement.

It is absurd that a law needs to be established to affirm that parents are the primary decision-makers for their own children. This situation highlights the distorted reality created by the radical left’s attempts to undermine and dismantle American values. The notion that a public-school teacher can challenge a parent or legal guardian’s authority is reminiscent of fascism.

The arrogant Calhoun smugly admitted that she “knowingly did not comply with the state statute.”

Leftist Democrats often disregard decency and the laws that govern our society. They believe they can act without consequence, operating under the notion that laws apply to everyone else but not to them. Their two favorite phrases seem to be, “Rules are for thee, not for me,” and “Do as I say, not as I do.”

According to the outlet, as a consequence of her refusal to act responsibly, the district opted not to renew Calhoun’s annual contract while the state reviewed her teaching credential for violations of state law.

“The teacher is working under a ten-month contract that expires in May 2025,” Murnaghan’s statement continued. “Since the state will be reviewing her teaching certificate based on these actions, the district decided not to renew the annual contract until the issue is resolved with the state.”

The firing has ignited anger in the local community, with many expressing their discontent at a heated board of education meeting on Tuesday night, according to ClickOrlando.

A petition on change.org seeking Calhoun’s reinstatement has gathered over 18,000 signatures over three days.

“Ms. Calhoun exemplifies what education should be: inclusive, understanding, and respectful of individuality. Losing her would be a significant loss for Brevard County’s education community,” the petition stated.

Frankly, the fact that 18,000 snowflakes signed a petition is meaningless. All that indicates is that there are 18,000 leftists who couldn’t care less about the rights of parents, or have absolutely no idea what they are signing.

Calhoun does not exemplify any of the traits listed on that laughable petition. She is a self-serving leftist who is so nauseatingly narcissistic that all she cares about is her agenda and circumventing the parents’ rights to satisfy her own disgusting ego.

Is she being inclusive, understanding, or respectful to the parents of this child? These are the people who raised this person from birth, and the nonsensical idea that this airheaded leftist can disregard their wishes only reinforces how ignorant of reality Democrats have become.
