What If Trump Decides To Get His Money’s Worth Out Of The Left’s Constant Accusations?

There is an unacknowledged advantage in your enemy being people who will treat your every action as unprecedented, horrific, and the worst thing that has ever happened with that message filling the media and being promoted everywhere no matter how unwarranted and unjustified. 

This advantage can be described in these terms: 

1. The Boy Who Cried Wolf Effect. People get tired of hearing Wolf when there is no Wolf. Gradually they are more and more inclined to disbelieve the cry and consider the cry a cynical trick. 

2. The Running Out of Road Effect. If you scream this stuff in response to everything, where do you go next? How would you signal that something really is MORE outrageous? You have used up all your believable outrage and can’t scale up when something is done that genuinely is wrong. It’s just the same screech. 

Combine these two effects and you get a conclusion which any decent strategist should make. 

That conclusion is that the hysteria, the dishonesty, the malignancy, the bias, the propaganda, the exaggeration, the false accusations….all empower the victim of these things. 

If that victim is going to be called a dictator and a criminal for everything they do, including just doing the legal things that they were elected to do….what disadvantage is there in saying ‘ok, you’re going to call me a dictator anyway….’. 

What disadvantage would there actually be in arresting, not one judge who has very clearly aided and abetted a criminal in the courtroom assisting the criminals escape, but 20 or 30 judges who have very clearly distorted the law for party political purposes and exceeded their jurisdiction in a criminal conspiracy to reverse the result of the election? 

You are going to get the same screech either way.  

Unprecedented assumptions of authority in denial of an election result and unprecedented judicial acts of criminal conspiracy warrant unprecedented responses, while unprecedented levels of media bias and media screeching have no higher octave of outrage available to them if this should occur. 

I don’t think the Trump adninistration will go there, as they are depressingly law abiding and constrained by a morality that their opponents do not possess. But I’m saying they could go there with no increase in what they are facing. Democrats are already sponsoring domestic terrorism and freeing criminals who commit crimes for them, already openly breaking the law themselves, already openly supportive of poltical assassination, already comparing anyone who opposes them to Hitler. And the media are already spreading hate and lies constantly and comparing anyone who opposes them to Hitler. 

If you are firmer and cut through all the niceties to lock them up, if you treat their worst elite criminals the way they treated J6 defendants, how the hell can that make them any worse than they already are?

On a purely pragmatic assessment, a Machiavellian assessment devoid of your own usual moral hesitations, if you are populist there has never been a better or more justified time to mass-arrest your political opponents and cite their own actions as the precedent for it.
