Requiem for Charlie Kirk – Martyr and American Patriot
September 10th, 2025 will forever be a day of sadness and infamy in the United States of America.
Charlie Kirk, founder of the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA (TPUSA), was assassinated yesterday afternoon during an outdoor event at Utah Valley University. This senseless act of political terrorism robbed the our nation of one of the greatest political figures in modern American history.
Before Kirk founded TPUSA in 2012, conservative political activism was fractured and largely absent on most American college campuses in the early 2010s. But Kirk and TPUSA changed that. No longer did conservative college students have to fear openly sharing their political views on campus. Instead, Kirk helped give a voice to the once voiceless MAGA conservative college student by building TPUSA into the largest grassroots political youth organization in the country—with over one thousand chapters at high schools and colleges across the United States.
Kirk inspired tens of thousands of young American patriots over the years, turning a dormant conservative youth movement into a well-oiled machine. His influence on campus and online was remarkable, with millions of followers across social media and conferences drawing thousands of attendees.
But Kirk was not just a successful political activist. He was an accomplished writer, speaker, and radio show host as well. But most importantly, he was a Christian man, a husband, and a father of two young children. The political terrorist that killed him has created a widow and two children who will never grow up with their father.
One of the most disturbing aspects of this tragedy is that millions of liberal extremists and politicians are celebrating Kirk’s horrific death. You can look at Facebook, Tik Tok, and X (formerly Twitter) to see the utterly evil comments and posts mocking and applauding the murder. As a country, we cannot suffer these cancerous individuals much longer. Our country is long overdue for a conversation about domestic, left-wing political terrorism in the United States.
But on a personal note, I would not be here today writing articles on The Hayride and engaging in political activism in Louisiana if it were not for Charlie Kirk and Turning Point USA.
In 2020, Charlie inspired me to join my university’s TPUSA chapter and get involved in activism for the first time. Five years later, I can say that joining Turning Point was one of the best decisions I ever made. Through TPUSA, I’ve met countless patriots and created lifelong memories for which I will always be grateful.
Most of all, Charlie showed me that young conservatives can truly make a difference in our country. I will do my best to honor his legacy through my own activism. We must honor Charlie’s love for America by continuing to clean out the deep rot that is plaguing our nation and restoring America back to its traditional Christian roots.
Thank you, Charlie, for inspiring countless young patriots to dedicate themselves to making this nation great once again.
There will never be another Charlie Kirk.
