Katie Porter Demonstrates All The Qualities To Be California’s Next Governor
California is unequivocally the liberal, leftist capital of the world. Despite endlessly rising prices, a massive population exodus, and a deteriorating quality of life in most of the state’s major cities, the voters continue to vote for Democrats with far-fetched, irrational ideals.
Since Newsome is term-limited and cannot run again for Governor, you would hope that there would be a crack somewhere that would allow sanity to creep back into the voting procedure. Still, alas, another Democrat who has displayed extremely erratic behavior is once again leading in the polls.
In a recently released videotaped interview, Katie Porter, the leading candidate in the California gubernatorial race with a 7-point advantage over her competitors in the open primary, became frustrated when asked a straightforward question about President Trump. She exclaimed, “I don’t want this all on camera,” and attempted to leave the interview.
Footage of the strange encounter, which aired on Monday and quickly went viral, captured Porter becoming upset when Watts asked how she planned to secure Republican votes as she attempts to replace the lame-duck Democratic governor, Gavin Newsom.
This isn’t Porter’s first ill-tempered rodeo. In 2022, Porter was accused by a former congressional aide of bullying after she claimed the staffer exposed her to COVID-19 by working in person during the pandemic.
A year earlier, Porter criticized the Irvine, Calif. Police Department in a text message to the city’s mayor, calling it a “disgrace” after officers arrested her then-boyfriend, Julian Willis, for allegedly punching a protester at a town hall.
Sounds like a lovely household.
Her ex-husband, Matthew Hoffman, claimed during their divorce proceedings in 2013 that she often verbally abused him and threw “toys, books, and other objects” at him throughout their marriage. He even alleged that she once poured scalding-hot mashed potatoes on his head during an argument.
After her unsuccessful Senate campaign last year, Porter faced criticism from Mr. Personality Adam Schiff after claiming she endured an “onslaught of billionaires spending millions to rig this election.”
Look, I can dodge toys, books, shoes, etc., but dumping hot mashed potatoes like a Gatorade shower takes her anger to another level. Someone within the Democrats’ political cabal must have thought that cumulatively, all of this was getting close to their tolerance line, so mysteriously, another video was released demonstrating Porter’s temper.
The second video highlighting the unstable Porter narrative was recorded during an interview with former Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm in July 2021.
The video was sent to, and released surprisingly by, Politico.
“Video of the exchange, exclusively obtained by POLITICO Wednesday, shows an online conversation between Porter and then-Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm in July 2021. Several minutes in, Porter’s staffer interjected to correct something the Democratic representative had said about electric vehicles. Porter then reprimanded her employee, who had also previously appeared periodically in the background during the recording.”
For years, Porter has faced accusations of being a difficult boss and abusive to employees during her time in Congress, along with unrelated domestic disputes.
In a statement to Politico yesterday, Porter sniveled that she’s striving to do better by her staff.
“It’s no secret I hold myself and my staff to a high standard, and that was especially true as a member of Congress. I have sought to be more intentional in showing gratitude to my staff for their important work.”
Right, it’s all about standards for Porter. Except there are no standards, they’re all delusions. She’s driven by hatred and the need for power, which makes her the ideal candidate to follow Newsome. That way, everything he somehow managed not to destroy, Porter can bulldoze her way through and finish the job.
Despite my beliefs that Porter would be the candidate that California liberals deserve, she has somehow managed to offend the offender, and they may be trying to derail her campaign.
It’s a curious aspect of information leaks; most of the time, the information isn’t exposed by accident but instead revealed for a purpose. In this case, it seems that turning public opinion against Porter and her anger is the Democrats’ way out.
If they do want her out, the next question is, who do they want to replace her, and even more importantly, why?
