“He’s Not A Communist. He’s A Socialist.”
Lots of “he’s not a Communist. He’s a socialist” articles flying around, accompanied by smug leftists writing in to the newspapers in question with “learn the difference between communist and socialist people”.
Yeah, the difference between he’s killing me (Communist) and he’s hugging the guy who killed me (Socialist).
I sometimes think the Left live entirely in words alone. It explains their easy divorce from objective reality, known effects, the concept of consequence, mountains of evidence and the like.
Imagine a Tron type world constructed solely out of racing past three word slogans, able to transform utterly at any moment by simply applying one word to something else, usually it’s opposite. The sky is scraps of Marx, the Earth is Engels, and the sea is a lullaby that sings Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as it kisses the shore. All the little rattling pebbles are dreams of a better future, and it’s only if you pick them up and look at them (which nobody ever does) that you see that they are skulls.
“It’s not a brutal Communist dictatorship, it’s a Socialist Republic. Duh! Can’t you read?”
“He’s not an Islamic jihadist, he’s just a very naughty boy….but I like him!”
Those who live purely in Theory, should never be allowed to shape Reality. Abstraction is the mother of monsters.
