Starbucks Red Faced On Red Cup Day

We’ve all heard the expression that Karma is A B*tch. Starbucks is learning that lesson. Today is one of the busiest days of the year for the company. It’s Red Cup day, an annual event when the company holds a special promotion where customers receive a complimentary, limited-edition reusable red holiday cup with the purchase of any handcrafted holiday beverage at participating locations. This one-day event typically takes place on the third Thursday in November, marking the start of the holiday season for many. The free cup is a 16-ounce reusable cup, and the offer is available only while supplies last.

However, this year is different; this year, karma is coming in the form of a strike, and truth be told, wokeness is the reason. Starbucks decided years ago to embrace the trans movement, which means they have sidled up to the mentally ill. Now, they are learning the cruel lesson that when you deal with the devil, you will get burned.

Members of Starbucks Workers United “voted overwhelmingly” for an open-ended strike beginning today. A strike designed to try and do maximum damage. In April, the unionized Starbucks baristas snowflakes melted down over a new dress code that was implemented in May.

The dress code was perfectly reasonable. All the company was striving for was uniformity, something most well-run companies insist on. In this case, the request was simple. A solid black shirt, khaki, black, or blue denim bottoms, and a green apron. No big deal, right? Except these are not reasonable people.

Their X account was plastered with photos of racially diverse, disabled, queer, and trans individuals. It includes a “strike with pride,” call, and the assertion that “queer rights are workers’ rights are women’s rights are trans rights.”

In 2023, the company issued a statement regarding its health insurance plan, which has been in place since 2013.

“Starbucks health insurance plans have included coverage for gender-affirming surgery. In 2018, Starbucks expanded health insurance plan coverage to include procedures that were previously considered cosmetic — including hair removal, facial feminization, and hair transplants, among others.”

“In fact, Starbucks recently extended medical travel reimbursement coverage for individuals who are required to travel for access to gender-affirming care.”

This statement was published in response to “unfounded allegations made by others accusing Starbucks of withholding gender-affirming care from our partners at stores with union activity.”

Translation: Starbucks gave an inch, and the mentally ill want 10,000 miles. The unionized baristas are so deluded that losing subsidized “hair removal” and “facial feminization” surgeries were their main complaints.

How spoiled is this group? Some of the benefits offered by the organization include up to 18 weeks of paid family leave and full tuition coverage for a four-year college degree. In a letter to employees obtained by the AP last week, Starbucks’ Chief Partner Officer, Sara Kelly, stated that the union left the bargaining table in the spring.

More than 12,000 baristas belong to “Starbucks Workers United.” On its website, there is a list of three core demands.

“Better hours to improve staffing in our stores.”

“Higher take-home pay, so we can pay our bills.”

“Resolution for hundreds of outstanding unfair labor practice charges for union busting.”

Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol stated that as of September 25th, the company operated nearly 18,300 total coffee houses across the U.S. and Canada. Out of those, around 550 company-owned U.S. Starbucks stores are currently unionized. More have voted to unionize, but Starbucks closed 59 unionized stores in September as part of a larger reorganization campaign.

According to the Associated Press, Starbucks spokeswoman Jaci Anderson claims that “Starbucks already offers the best job in retail, including more than $30 an hour on average in pay and benefits for hourly partners.”

Starbucks employees told the Associated Press that many employees aren’t receiving the required 20 hours per week they need before Starbucks’ benefits start.

According to the Associated Press, the union is demanding that Starbucks address unfair labor charges submitted by employees. These employees allege that the company has fired baristas in retaliation for unionizing and has failed to negotiate changes in policies that employees are required to implement.

Starbucks Workers United will hold a strike at 65 store locations in 45 cities.

Starbucks Workers United told the Associated Press that stores in 45 cities would be impacted, including those in New York, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, San Diego, St. Louis, Dallas, Columbus, Ohio, and Seattle.

I have no sympathy for Starbucks; they brought this on themselves by jumping into the woke pool fully dressed. Personally, I never get coffee at Starbucks. It’s too expensive and the coffee is too bitter. But not anywhere near as bitter as the pill Starbucks will be forced to swallow over and over again by dealing with these perverted and delusional psychos.
