Nebraska Senator Has Weak Excuse For Pulling Patriotic History Exhibit Off Capitol Building Walls
I’m sure everyone is aware that the United States is celebrating its 250th birthday this year. The Fourth of July should be spectacular, but in the meantime, there are many patriotic displays and mini celebrations taking place across the country.
PragerU, in conjunction with the White House, has created patriotic historical displays to be showcased across the country, including state capitol buildings.
PragerU was cofounded by Dennis Prager, a well-known conservative radio talk show host and writer. He is the host of the nationally syndicated radio talk show The Dennis Prager Show.
The Prager University Foundation, known as PragerU, is an American 501(c)(3) nonprofit advocacy group and media organization that produces content promoting conservative and pro-capitalist viewpoints on political, economic, and sociological topics.
An exhibit celebrating America’s 250th birthday highlights the men and women who risked everything for liberty. One such exhibit is located in the Nebraska Capitol Building. Both the White House and PragerU encourage states to showcase the Founders Museum in their capitols, schools, and embassies. Nebraska’s Capitol Building is one of several locations where Americans can learn about our nation’s founding.
However, one Democrat Senator, a radical liberal named Machaela Cavanaugh, was videotaped pulling part of the display off the walls.
When Governor Jim Pillen saw the video, he was appalled by Cavanaugh’s actions and expressed his disgust in a post.
An example of the bizarre filibuster mentioned by Pillen demonstrates how this mentally disturbed radical made a fool out of herself, and makes one wonder how anyone this unstable can get elected.
Cavanaugh offered her weak, illogical excuse to the local station 1011 NOW KOLN-KOGN, claiming that she “wasn’t aware” the exhibit was being put up this week, or that it had anything to do with the semi-quincentennial.
“When I walked in this morning and saw these poster boards lining the hallway of my office, I thought ‘well I’m not allowed to have things lining the hall of my office. I tried to take them down as gently as I could and not damage any of them, and I stacked them inside of my office, and I let the state patrol know that they were there.”
It’s amazing that this anti-American narcissist could even expect anyone to believe this obvious lie. The entire hallway is lined with the display, not just outside her office, so any reasonable person would have asked about the display before tearing it off the wall.
The Founders Museum display features more than 80 paintings of historical figures, key events in the American Revolution, and portraits of those who signed the Declaration of Independence.
Yet Cavanaugh wants to play naïve to the obvious fact that the display was there to honor American history. Her pleasure in disrupting it is obvious from her disgusting smirk as she carries the items away.
She even tried to project her ignorance and hatred of American history onto Pillen by offering up this shallow distraction from the truth, claiming that she didn’t take the displays down for any political reason, saying:
“I still don’t know what PragerU is.”
Then this:
“I didn’t read them; I didn’t look at them. If you ask me what ones I took down, I couldn’t tell you. I just took down the things that were on the wall in my hallway.”
Right, she pulls American historical documents and pictures off the wall, but has no idea what they were representing.
She then followed that blatant lie with her attempt to criticize Pillen for exposing her wrongdoing by calling his posting of the video that caught her red-handed, hatred of our country, (get this), a “misuse of government funds” to ask the Nebraska State Patrol for security footage of her to post online.
Yeah, I’m sure pulling that footage really cost the state a bundle. It will cost more to rehang what you pulled off the wall.
Nebraska citizens need to take a long look at themselves in the mirror and ask how this clown ever got elected. Cavanaugh is a typical Democrat; she commits a despicable act, lies about it, and then tries to blame the people who caught her in the act.
Democrats refuse to take responsibility for their actions, so the citizens need to do it by refusing to put them in any positions of power.
