The Left’s Narrative on the Shooting of Renee Good Slowly Crumbles
The left has always disliked facts. Many liberals repeat the same talking points over and over, as if saying lies enough will turn them into truth or at least sear them in the consciousness of the everyday citizen. These absurd claims are still often heard. The lie that women make less than men for doing the same job, the false claim that America is an institutionally racist country, the absurd notion that Trump is a fascist, or that the current President wants to be a dictator. Noam Chomsky, ironically on the left, wrote about manufactured consent for years, and that’s largely how the left and their so-called media outlets function. It’s the same process of repeating false statements to try to create narratives and move public opinion in favor of or against certain ideas.
Democrats have lost control of the narrative over the last 2 years. With Musk purchasing Twitter and making the platform neutral, as well as the decline of the biased and corrupt corporate media, the left can no longer dictate reality to much of the public. This fact was on display again with the shooting of Renee Good. The initial reports that the same failing liberal media outlets predictably ran with were that she was just dropping her kids off to school, her vehicle never touched an ICE agent, or that she didn’t accelerate with her vehicle facing the government officer who took her life. The facts are now clear, and all of these statements are unequivocally false. Good accelerated her car when the vehicle was facing the officer who shot her. She hit him, and he returned fire. She was also a member of a group, ICE Watch, that followed around and sought to obstruct officials of the agency. Good was clearly trying to interfere with official ICE operations at the time she was shot. While obviously, peaceful protest is a hallmark of American democracy, interfering with law enforcement personnel’s duties is dangerous, as was seen here.
The most tragic part of this shooting is that Good was obviously radicalized by the lies of the left. Some liberals have repeatedly and absurdly claimed that ICE was kidnapping people or conducting what these individuals absurdly call Nazi raids. Sadly, while the left has lost much of its control in the press, some people still believe the many gross lies told by the liberal media, and Good was clearly one of them. The recently released tape shows she clearly intended to physically get in the way of ICE officials, and also that her vehicle hit the body of the officer, who then returned fire.
The law is clear. A car is a deadly weapon. The officer who shot Good needed only to have a reasonable belief that her actions were likely to kill or cause serious harm to him for his actions to be justified, and the facts are clear that these actions were reasonable given the new evidence and existing facts. Joe Biden opened the border, Trump has been forced to call ICE in, the left has created a dangerous situation by spreading false and incendiary rhetoric, and this tragedy was the result. While obviously adults are responsible for the decisions they make, Good’s death should be attributed not just to her actions, but also to the increasingly dangerous lies of the left as well.
