Why the Massive Fraud in the Somalian Community in Minnesota shows the Real Cost of a Failing Immigration Policy

If you heard it once, you’ve heard it a thousand times. The left calls the immigration system broken, says we need comprehensive immigration reform, and then these same gaslighting politicians propose blanket amnesty for the nearly 20 million people who are here illegally, mostly in sanctuary states run by the Democrats. The reality of immigration, unsurprisingly, couldn’t be more different than what the usual lying individuals on the left suggest.

The US immigration system is not some completely broken or failing system that needs to be completely overhauled; current policies just need simple and basic reforms. The game is not complicated. The left has calculated that illegal immigration helps the Democrats stay in power since most illegals who go to sanctuary states and cities are counted in the census towards apportionment and seats in the House, and their kids, of course, are U.S. citizens. The Democratic Party also still believes that politicians can get amnesty for some individuals here illegally down the line and turn them into loyal voters as well. While the immigration policies of the country obviously need reform, the real issue is with how the left has opened the border and completely abused a process that was working fine prior to the 1980s, when massive numbers of illegals began to enter the country through the southern border. The system itself is not the core problem, the abuse of the immigration laws by the Democrats is the issue.

This is why the incorrect and completely absurd claim the left has been making for years, that illegal immigrants are a positive for the US, is so important. This argument is just wrong on its face, and the recent massive fraud in the Somali community in Minnesota is yet another example of this fact. While many Somalians were able to come here legally to escape the violence in Somalia, it never made sense to bring thousands of people to the US who had no interest in working or assimilating into American culture. This group of people has largely formed subcommunities in places such as Minnesota, where nearly 80,000 Somalis live today.

The reality is that when most illegal immigrants come to the US, they receive massive taxpayer benefits such as free health care, education, and, in many cases, housing as well. These individuals are not often paid a living wage, and taxpayers essentially have to subsidize them frequently since companies tend to hire illegals because they can underpay them. The same issue exists when massive numbers of people come to this country with little to no skills and no interest in assimilating within the country, as we are seeing with the Somalis. This group has largely formed subcommunities separate from the rest of American society, and nearly 89 percent of Somali families with kids receive some kind of welfare. While the US should of course, be willing to take some people seeking asylum, the immigration system was not designed to bring in thousands of people who have no interest in learning English and then subsidizing them with taxpayer-funded benefits such as welfare indefinitely.

The obvious reality in Minneapolis, New York, California, and many other badly run Democratic states is that the left is more than willing to use taxpayer money to subsidize immigrant communities that help the Democratic Party stay in power. This is no different than pay-for-play, and this is what is occurring in Minnesota. The massive fraud in the state was obviously well-known to the leaders of the state, such as corrupt Governor Tim Walz, he just covered up this theft because he knew the Somali community was a reliable voting bloc that helped him and his party stay in power and get more seats in the House. Today, the immigration system is not the core problem, the Democrats’ abuse of our current laws is the largest issue, and the massive fraud in Minnesota is yet another example of this fact being true.
