Gun Control For Americans, Loopholes for Illegals

Wow, leave it to the Democrats to create a new level of hypocrisy. When liberals aren’t screaming about gun control, they’re whining that the police need to be defunded or protesting ICE. They seem to ignore the fact that when it comes to guns, it isn’t the inanimate object that kills another human being, it’s the person who is holding it.

Democrats have a huge blind spot in their reasoning when it comes to illegal aliens. These are not American citizens; they are individuals who entered the United States by sneaking across the border, under false pretenses, or by overstaying the time limit on a visa they agreed to honor when they arrived here.

There is no reasoning that justifies those here illegally being able to vote in any American elections, no matter how long they have lived here and have avoided doing the right thing. No country knowingly allows individuals who are not citizens to vote in their elections, so the Democrats’ stance defies logic. They are so consumed with the idea of power that they will do anything to increase their voting base, even if that means throwing the borders open and allowing anyone to come through, even unvetted.

Adding insult to injury, liberals in certain states are now hiring individuals to work as police officers and arming them with guns bought and paid for with American taxpayers’ dollars. The entire process stinks of rank hypocrisy.

Democrats, for all their screaming about defunding the police and gun control, think nothing of arming illegals to pass judgment on Americans and to enforce laws that they have broken.

I first wrote about this trend last July in an article titled, “Maine Police Force Hires An Illegal, What Could Go Wrong?”

In the Article I wrote:

“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers arrested an illegal immigrant, Jon Luke Evans, who was employed as a police officer, after he allegedly attempted to purchase a firearm illegally.

Officers arrested the Jamaican alien with the assistance of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) after his firearm purchase attempt in Biddeford on July 25 “raised concerns tied to his immigration status,” according to an agency press release.

Evans was a reserve police officer with the Old Orchard Beach Police Department at the time of his arrest, according to the agency.

ICE ERO Boston acting Field Office Director Patricia H. Hyde spelled it out this way:

“Jon Luke Evans not only broke U.S. immigration law, but he also illegally attempted to purchase a firearm. Shockingly, Evans was employed as a local law enforcement officer.”

“The fact that a police department would hire an illegal alien and unlawfully issue him a firearm while on duty would be comical if it weren’t so tragic. We have a police department that was knowingly breaking the very law they are charged with enforcing in order to employ an illegal alien. ICE Boston will continue to prioritize public safety by arresting and removing criminal alien threats from our New England communities.”

This trend of outright lawbreaking has spread to other states.

Radule Bojovic, a citizen of Montenegro, arrived in America on a tourist visa in 2015, allowed it to expire, and did not leave.

Ten years later, the overweight toad J.B. Pritzker, Illinois’s governor, made him a sworn police officer – starting salary around $79,000, taxpayer pension included.

The question is how? Federal law bans illegal aliens from possessing firearms.

That fact didn’t deter Democrats. They used a loophole in the 1968 Gun Control Act that allows state agencies to issue firearms.

Naturally, California got in on the act. It passed a law in 2022 letting DACA recipients become armed officers.

Illinois and Colorado have both adopted new policies. Police departments in sanctuary states, which have struggled to fill ranks after years of Democrats criticizing law enforcement, have quietly started hiring illegal immigrants, citing existing loopholes.

Andrew Arthur, a former immigration judge and fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies, accurately described the situation.

“The very idea that you can come to the United States, be here without status, and yet enforce the laws of the United States is ludicrous.”

In Minnesota, corrections officer Morris Brown had been living in the country illegally since his visa was revoked in 2015 and falsely claimed to be an American citizen to secure the job.

Three states, three cases, and one pattern: sanctuary policies and federal loopholes working together to place illegal aliens in positions of armed authority over American citizens.

There are countless scenarios that could play out by giving Illegals a badge and a gun, and all of them are bad.

Need a prisoner taken out? A cartel member with a badge is aware of which inmates are assisting federal prosecutors, the timing of transfers, and the current roster of individuals within a detention facility each night.

The DHS calls the practice a national security threat. Democrats want the American public to see it as an act of inclusion

Radical leftist California State Senator Nancy Skinner sponsored the DACA officer law. She calls the citizenship requirement “archaic,” which is par for the course. Democrats love talking out of both sides of their mouth. They want police forces defunded unless they see an opportunity to give some illegals a job and pick up some votes. If it endangers others, they don’t care.

Illinois Gov. Pritzker signed his version while simultaneously suing the Trump administration to block every immigration enforcement action in court.

Sen. Ted Budd of North Carolina and Rep. Mary Miller of Illinois are stepping up to end this ridiculous practice. They are leading the Stop Illegal Alien Cops Act.

The bill eliminates the firearms exception that allowed all of this to be “legal.”

Budd has been an unwavering champion for change in the Senate! He spearheaded the POLICE Act, which aimed to make assaulting a police officer a deportable offense—despite facing opposition from Democrats three times. Additionally, he successfully passed the Laken Riley Act and is now diligently addressing the loophole that allowed illegal immigrants to possess government firearms. Positive progress is on the horizon.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin was straightforward:

“It’s a felony for aliens to even possess a firearm. A so-called law enforcement officer who is actively breaking the law.”

Illegals are illegal because they are breaking the law by being in this country. The idea that ANY state would allow lawbreakers to have any oversight over law-abiding Americans is ludicrous and needs to be stopped.
