Why the Left is now Mysteriously Quiet About Packing the Court After the Ruling on Trump’s Tariffs
If today’s failing Democratic Party has said the Supreme Court is corrupt once, these radicals have made that statement a thousand times. Ever since Republicans put Amy Barrett on the high court, the left has complained nonstop about nearly every ruling that has not gone in the Republicans’ favor since Roe v Wade was overturned nearly 4 years ago. Even radical activist Ketanji Jackson went as far in one dissenting opinion to say that the Republican party never seems lose at the high court, brazenly casting doubt on the legitimacy of the institution without any evidence or legitimate basis.
This is why the country’s objective observers should find the fact interesting that the same left-wing in America that has relentlessly attacked the very legitimacy of the Supreme Court for nearly 4 long years, is suddenly so quiet about packing or expanding the judicial branch because of 1 major ruling the Democrats received in the party’s favor. The most disgusting aspect of the Democratic Party since Trump first won in 2016 is the extent to which the Democrats, the left in particular, are willing to go to attack Trump and the MAGA movement. These radicals have impeached Trump twice with no basis, called him a fascist and a threat to Democracy, and even refused to condemn repeated political violence, such as after George Floyd’s death, when this crime benefited the left politically.
The Democrats have essentially gone scorched earth since Trump first came into office, and the left’s willingness to violate the most basic norms of American politics should concern everyone in the country, regardless of political beliefs. Today’s pathetic Democratic leadership went from calling for Clarence Thomas to resign and saying the Supreme Court was corrupt, to praising the same justices in just 24 hours. While obviously, the Democrats are happy the party got what they perceive to be a victory, for a major political institution to go from calling an entire branch of government corrupt to praising the high court in just 24 hours should still alarm and concern the citizens of this country.
Conservatives and Republicans never called for expanding the court or questioned the legitimacy of the institution, even when activist justices passed Roe v Wade and legalized gay marriage. There was not a single serious Republican leader holding national office who ever entertained the idea of packing the high court, even when multiple rulings that the activist court engaged in had no basis in law or the Constitution. The right respected our institutions even when the decisions of these critically important branches of government didn’t go the conservatives’ way. The minute Justices began issuing more conservative and constitutionally aligned opinions, the left completely abandoned the legal process and attacked the very foundation of America’s Democratic system.
The acceptance of violence as part of America’s political system, the decision to prosecute a former President of the United States, and the censorship on social media outlets of Trump himself after January 6th are all unacceptable and concerning signs that the guardrails on the Democratic system in this country need to be strengthened. If the Democrats didn’t have double standards, many on the left would have no standards at all. The silence of these radicals after a ruling against their way shows most of these individuals never cared about the system or the court, as we knew all along, it was just about winning. Indeed, attempting to tear down the very fabric of our country simply because the pathetic version of today’s Democratic Party can no longer win major elections should alarm all Americans, regardless of their political persuasion.
