Recognizing What Iran Is Doesn’t Make You A Neocon

Let me be clear on an issue that a vocal group of people are unhappy with me about…no – I am not a Neocon. I did not “turn Neocon”.

I am a student of history and an experienced senior planner and intelligence operator.

Some threats will never be “deterred’ – Iran’s Shia theocracy is one of them.

They have been given dozens of ‘off ramps’ to stop pursuing nuclear weapons (yes – there is zero reason to have enrichment above 20% for peaceful use – they were at at 80% which is weapons grade) and to stop fund terrorist organizations and proxies that murder those who you disagree with (from the USMC barracks bombing in ’83 to the attacks of Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis in the modern day) – and they did not take the off-ramps. Why did Iran continue this mayhem and chaos?

Because of their religious belief that their prompting the “end of days” or the apocalypse would result in the return of the Mahdi – the 12th Imam – their version of Jesus and the political successor to the Prophet Mohammed…to be true to their Shia faith, they literally had to plan to bring the region into total chaos. Why would they be this crazy? Because in their belief of Islam, the creation of the apocalypse would allow THEM to reunite all of Islam (in other words defeat the Sunni) and create one Islamic movement…

They were not going to be deterred by money, concessions, or containment – they were committed, like the Rev Jim Jones, to an apocalyptic take on the world and wanted to end civilization as we know it.

So, no. I am not a Neocon.

No, this will not be a forever war.

As Billy Joel said, We Didn’t Start the Fire…but we need to keep it from burning down the middle east and harming our interest and our allies.

I am anti-war…I don’t believe in the use of military force unless there is a specific reason and intented endstate/outcome.

Donald J. Trump has been VERY clear on the intentions here.

Pete Hegseth is doing an effective job in leading the spectrum of the Pentagons capabilities in this war.

I don’t know the outcome, but we are living up to our principles by working to liberate the Persian people from the hell of being under control of radical theologians who believe the death of their country and people, and the murder of others, would serve their God Allah…it is that simple…

The one bright spot in all this, President Trump gave the leaders of Iran the opportunity to meet their God…

Enshallah…
