Why the WNBA’s Collective Bargaining Negotiations Again Show What a Fraud Feminism Truly Is
The left has been lying to America about what feminism is really about for decades. The so-called women’s rights movement, which has roots in the 1970s, was supposedly wrapped in the cloak of gender equality. As the number of females entering the workforce began to grow significantly throughout that decade, a number of court cases dealing with abortion, sexual harassment, and other gender issues rose to prominence. Feminism also became more mainstream, particularly at universities, as the misleading and falsely labeled women’s rights push spread throughout American society.
Conservatives in the modern era have never opposed the idea of equal rights for any group of people, including women. The idea of equal rights and opportunities is absolutely fundamental to what both the idea of the constitution and the country are built on, and the right has embraced the precept. The main reason feminism was so accepted in many corners of American society was the completely absurd and false premise that women did not have the same rights as men. This radical ideology was never about equality, feminism is about power, and nothing more. The policies pushed by an extreme and failing Democratic part that embraces this toxic perspective is further proof of the increasingly obvious fact that feminists never had any interest in the idea of equal rights, these far-left activists are all about power and control.
The same feminists who claim these individuals are focused on equal rights never complain when women are not drafted into Vietnam or other wars, such as the more recent conflict in Ukraine, which has seen conscription used as well. These radicals also do not want women treated the same as men when females benefit from unequal treatment, such as with domestic violence, sexual assault charges, and custody disputes in divorce. Women are almost always awarded primary custody of young children in a divorce solely because of their sex, and police frequently remove men from the home over even minor allegations of domestic violence. The charges older women who sexually assault younger boys face tend to be more lenient than when men prey on younger girls. While certainly, conservatives fully believe, as the Supreme Court has accepted, women need certain special legal protections in areas such as domestic violence, the mere existence of these laws shows that the idea of absolute equality under the law for both men and women was and remains unrealistic for many reasons both sexes accept. Feminists have never once expressed the belief that women should be treated the same as men in areas such as the military draft, domestic violence, or the decisions over custodial rights of parents during divorces or the end of a relationship.
This is why no one should be surprised by the current dispute between the WNBA and the league’s players over a new collective bargaining agreement. The league of women that embraces feminism and constantly supports extreme left-wing causes is trying to get more money for the players, even though the WNBA has never once been profitable. The only reason the WNBA exists despite losing 40 million or more every year is that the NBA subsidizes the league. When the NBA and WNBA negotiate TV contracts, these leagues engage the networks jointly, and what happens is the men’s league agrees to take less profit in order to get the networks to take a loss on the women’s games these TV stations broadcast. The NBA pays for the WNBA to be on TV and for the league in general.
Given the fact that the WNBA is both unprofitable and 100 percent subsidized by the NBA, the women’s players asking for more money is literally an example of the women asking for more of the men’s money. These requests show both the double standard in society for men and women, while also revealing the true and toxic nature of what feminism is truly about. If men were asking for more money while working for a corporation that was both unprofitable and paid for by women, society would correctly mock them. The fact that these women in a league known for being on the far left feel comfortable asking for a pay raise despite never being profitable in over 30 years shows the women believe these individuals are entitled to a higher percentage of the money that the men are making. If the WNBA believed in equal rights, the league would be simply happy to exist, since the NBA literally pays the bills for the women.
Feminism has been one of the main causes of the clear and accelerating decline in American culture. The idea that women should feel pressure to work 40-hour workweeks rather than stay home and raise children is one of the dumbest and most harmful ideas that has permeated the culture of the United States. Today, the birth rate is in steady decline in the US, and even the dating culture between the sexes has become so challenging that many men are hesitant to even bother to ask women out. Conservatives and most Men have embraced the idea of equal rights, the real people pushing for inequality are, as usual, those on the left, such as the so-called feminists. These radicals are simply about power and control, and the recent absurd negotiations between the WNBA and the extreme left-wing players’ association are yet another example of this undeniable fact.
