A Good Time to Compare and Contrast Trump’s Decisive War in Iran with Obama’s Lies and Failures in Afghanistan

Most people won’t get this question correct. When you ask most people what the longest War was in US history, there will be many answers, but most will likely cite the Civil War or one of the World Wars, with some even referencing the Revolutionary War. The answer is the War in Afghanistan. This conflict, which in many ways is a forgotten 20-year occupation by the US military, was one of the most costly and disastrous failures in the history of the United States. While the military, as usual, did everything that was asked of these brave men and women, the Bush and Obama administrations completely failed both the troops and the country as a whole.

Today, the Taliban run Afghanistan, and this vile regime is as brutal today as these rulers were before the US invasion of the country shortly after 911. This is why it’s so interesting to compare and contrast the Democratic criticism of Trump’s military with that of Obama. Barack Hussein Obama only lied repeatedly about the war in Afghanistan, with 1,834 troops dying in the conflict on his watch. Obama lied about the US’s military successes in the nation, and his administration spent nearly $533 billion on that conflict. The failed left-wing leader literally wasted a half a trillion dollars on a war that was a total and complete failure. The loss of life by American troops during that time is, of course, even more unfathomable.

The fact that the same Democrats who refuse to this day to hold Obama accountable for the Afghan War now want to criticize President Trump for the 13 brave men and women who lost their lives during the current operation in Iran is beyond absurd. The left’s criticism of the current President’s spending on this War is equally pathetic. President Trump is the real person responsible for ending the War in Afghanistan, the agreement he negotiated was completed by the Biden administration, but the senile former Senator from Delaware completely mishandled the withdrawal of US troops from Afghan territory. Obama was nothing more than a tool of special interests, including the military industrial complex, and that, along with the fact that he didn’t want to deal with domestic political consequences of admitting defeat, is why is lied repeatedly to the American Public about the longest war in US history. The former President’s constant lies were exposed in a report that even the left-wing mouthpiece, the Washington Post, published in 2019.

Elizabeth Warren and most of the Democrats criticizing the funding of Trump’s War in Iran, a short conflict that is likely to end soon, literally voted for and supported over $500 billion that went to the completely wasteful military action in Afghanistan. The same hypocrites on the left who supported an unwinnable War for nearly 20 years now have the gall to criticize Trump’s efforts in Iran over 3 months. If the Democrats didn’t have double standards, most of these failed politicians would have no standards at all. Both the Democratic and Republican establishment that Trump ran against is the real power that supported these endless wars and the regime change efforts that almost all ended in failure, with the American taxpayer left to foot the costly bill.

Trump presided over what was by far the most peaceful 4 years in recent American history during his first successful term, and with the War in Iran and the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine likely to end soon, the 47th President should have a good chance to win a Nobel Peace Prize. President Trump is not beholden to any special interests, including the military industrial complex, and that’s the main reason he ran on and is determined not to enter into the kind of open-ended military occupations that the nation saw fail under both Bush, Obama and other Presidents. These regime change efforts were also largely supported by the very same Democrats who now think they have the credibility to criticize the current War with Iran as a waste of taxpayer money. The fact is that the War with Iran is coming to a close, and Trump is likely to announce a major agreement to end this conflict in the coming weeks. The other truth about the recent military effort against the Iranian regime is that the President had clear goals and an exit strategy, while the previous leaders of the US lacked either in our recent conflicts
