Taking Over Teen Takeovers

โ€œTeen takeoversโ€ are a growing issue across the country. These takeovers are where young people circulate plans on social media to gather en masse in public spaces.

While those involved will tell you that these are meant to be nothing more than social meetups, they often end up as large, chaotic, and often violent, spontaneous gatherings of teenagers in public spaces like parks, malls, and downtown areas, coordinated through social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat. These events, which have occurred in cities across the US, frequently involve disorderly conduct, fights, vandalism, and traffic disruptions.

The DOJ has seen enough and has decided the best way to control these outbreaks of chaos is to stop them at their source. United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, Jeanine Pirro, announced today that the Department of Justice (DOJ) will begin prosecuting parents in a new effort to combat โ€œteen takeovers.โ€

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is preparing to initiate prosecutions against parents under Washington D.C.โ€™s curfew law, specifically under code 22-811. This law makes it illegal for adults to “enable, facilitate, or permit a minor to engage in delinquent acts,” as stated by Pirro during a press conference. If parents are convicted under this law, they could face a prison sentence of up to six months.

Pirro stated:

โ€œIf the evidence shows the parent knew, or should have known, or permitted, or failed to prevent participation, weโ€™re gonna charge them. If you drop your kid off and you failed to supervise them, or you let them skip school to join the chaos, you are going to face fines, court-ordered classes, and possible jail time.โ€

โ€œParents, do your jobs, or we will do yours.โ€

In the D.C. area, takeovers have primarily occurred in Washington D.C.โ€™s Navy Yard, where hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of juveniles gather and disrupt local neighborhoods on a large scale. These events, typically organized through social media, often result in high rates of vandalism and property damage, and can escalate to violence.

D.C.โ€™s local government had previously implemented curfews, but enforcing them had little effect on the weekly takeovers. At Pirroโ€™s direction, law enforcement is now increasing its operations.

Pirro explained:

โ€œThis doesnโ€™t require new legislation, folks. Itโ€™s all there, and it sends a clear message to parents that you must supervise your kids or face criminal consequences.โ€

โ€œLaw-abiding taxpayers no longer have to pay for parental neglect, and as we take back our streets, as youโ€™ve heard today, there will be no excuses.โ€

This all sounds good, but standing on a soapbox and talking about these issues is the easy part. DOJ must follow through and actually prosecute some of the responsible parents.

These are another byproduct of the moral decay surging through our society. Entitled teens emboldened by radical leftist propaganda, who have no social conscience or caring for whom they inconvenience or what they damage.

Leftist zombies who are numb to the realities and morals that guide rational behavior. Hopefully, Pirro means what she says. Democrats have targeted our children from kindergarten through college. Displays like these takeovers are taking place while many of those involved canโ€™t read, write, spell, or do math at acceptable levels. The left has taught them to be takers and ignored teaching them what they need to be productive members of society.
