When False Narratives Collide with Reality: What Indiana and Kentucky’s Results Tell us About MAGA

There’s no party that hates facts more than the Democrats. Whether the left is lying about Trump being a Russian agent, falsely claiming women make less than men, or making absurd claims about comments the President never said in South Carolina or about America’s troops, the liberal establishment and their allies in the press are firmly committed to misleading narratives and hidden agendas. One of the latest incorrect claims that the left has continued to make about Trump and MAGA is that the movement is fractured or divided over a combination of events, ranging from the President’s handling of the Epstein files to his decision to wage the current war with Iran. The Democrats also have tried to argue that since price levels haven’t magically fallen dramatically in 2 years, many Trump supporters have buyer’s remorse.

The recent election results and the facts on the ground in Indiana, and more recently in Kentucky, tell a very different story. The President targeted state senators in the Hoosier state who opposed his redistricting efforts in the state to add more Republican seats in the House. In Kentucky. Trump went hard after Thomas Massie, one of his biggest critics. The President and his MAGA allies got exactly what they wanted in both states. Massie was defeated in the Republican primary, while 6 of the 8 state senators the President sought to replace were removed from power by Trump. These results, while anecdotal, are still important with the critical midterms approaching in just several months.

The actual polls show the war with Iran was popular with most of the Republican Party, including MAGA. While Trump faced some vocal conservative critics, such as Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson, there is no evidence that these individuals truly speak for a larger group of Republican voters. The handling of the Epstein files is also well in the past now, too. The claim by some liberal hacks in the decaying establishment media that prices remaining high would hurt the President with his base is also misplaced; there are many, much more deep-seated reasons that most of the hardcore MAGA voters have gravitated to the 45th and 47th leaders of the US. Intelligent people also always understood that after four long years of failed left-wing economic policies, Trump did not have a magic wand to instantly solve the many significant challenges the nation faces.

The core reasons why MAGA supports Trump are to fight against the far left, return control of the American government to the people, and bring common sense back into the White House. Much of the supposed criticism from some media figures on the right about Iran was always exaggerated. Trump has made clear he has no interest in a large-scale land invasion of Iran that could bog the US down in the kind of endless war the President has spoken out against for decades. Republicans have always supported a strong military, and President Trump has never once referred to the America First foreign policy he supports as the kind of isolationist philosophy some conservatives, such as Tucker Carlson, support.

Indeed, the President has also delivered on many key campaign promises. Trump has secured the border, accelerated deportations, got most of his tax cuts phased in permanently with the big and beautiful bill, and also helped put money in the hands of middle and working-class families with policies such as expanding the earned income credit. The President’s success in Venezuela and continued hardline against China has produced results as well. Trump has also negotiated successful trade agreements with the use of tariffs with the European Union, Japan, and other governing institutions as well. There is no doubt that some voters are not happy with how prices remain because of Biden’s failed economic policies, but there is zero evidence of any fracture in the MAGA base that is the foundation of the President’s movement.

Obviously, the Democrats are likely to take back the House in the midterm elections later this year. Still, if Republicans can mitigate losses in Congress and remain in control of the Senate, Trump should be able to claim victory based on where current expectations are. The left is fired up, as recent special elections in several states show, but the notion that the strong MAGA base has left Trump is completely absurd and just plain wrong. The Democrats have also fielded a number of very weak Senate candidates in states such as Maine, where the party chose a man who has frequently threatened others with violence. Republicans should be able to stop anything resembling a blue wave. Indeed, while the left continues to try to manipulate MAGA by pushing false narratives, all evidence points to a still united and strong conservative base that stands with Trump.
