Why Top Democrats’ Defense of Graham Platner Shows the Party’s Messaging against MAGA is a Fraud
If you’ve heard these pathetic and canned talking points once, you’ve heard them a thousand times. Trump and MAGA are supposedly fascists, a threat to Democracy, authoritarian leaders, and an existential threat to our country. That kind of absurd and extreme rhetoric is exactly why there has been repeated violence directed at both Trump and MAGA for years now. The recent assassination attempt on the 47th President was just the latest example of how dangerous top politicians repeating these disgusting lies can be in today’s polarized political environment where messaging travels quickly with social media.
The virtue signaling and obsession by the left with trying to hold what these radicals perceive as the moral high ground against Trump and MAGA know no boundaries. Democrats have offered almost zero policy prescriptions to the country since Trump came on the scene in 2015, and Harris in 2024 focused almost solely on framing her campaign as a defense against democracy. The corrupt and failed former Vice President couldn’t even name one substantive policy difference between her and the progressives’ disgraced former boss, senile Joe Biden. The Democratic Party doesn’t have a single idea, let alone a good one, to deal with affordability, the core issue Americans have been dealing with since rampant inflation occurred as a result of four long years of failed left-wing economic policies under the incompetent Biden regime.
This is why both the support and silence by top Democratic leaders over Graham Platner show what a fraud the entire messaging of the party is. The Oyster farmer has been riddled by a number of disgusting scandals for weeks now, and the leadership of the Democratic Party remains eerily silent about the issues of Platner. While the full facts surrounding the Maine Senate candidate have not been fully fleshed out, here is what is known. Platner got a Nazi tattoo and then lied about not knowing the origins of the symbol; several of his former girlfriends have confirmed this fact. The progressive Democrat has also advocated violence online against both Trump and MAGA, as well as threatened and engaged in abusive behavior towards multiple women. Platner has a tattoo of a Totenkopf, which is widely recognized as a Nazi symbol.
The Democrats allowed Bernie Sanders and progressives to choose candidates who were not well-known or mainstream politicians for the upcoming midterm races, and many of these individuals were clearly not thoroughly vetted at all. The notion that the multiple scandals involving Platner that were fairly easy to discover weren’t brought up for most of the Democratic primary shows how little background research the progressives who wanted the Oyster Farmer to run did on who he actually is. The Maine Senate seat is obviously of critical importance in the upcoming midterms because of how narrow control of Congress is, and the left’s desperation is starting to show now.
What is uniquely damaging about the top Democrats’ refusal to publicly and forcefully condemn Platner’s scandal campaign, however, is that the silence of party leadership shows what a fraud the entire message of the left is about MAGA as a whole. The Democratic Party is not only defending Nazi symbols while condemning Trump for being a white supremacist and fascist, but the left is also suggesting Trump is a threat to Democracy while refusing to speak out against Platner’s repeated advocacy of political violence. If Democrats didn’t have double standards, most on the left would have none at all, and what the Democratic Party’s both continual and strong defense of this vile candidate shows is that the left simply wants Trump out of power no matter what the cost. The idea that these radical leftists who control today’s pathetic and failing Democratic Party ever had any real concern or care about anything other than defeating MAGA was always a lie, and the Democrats’ defense of Platner shows this statement to be true.
