Yet Another Sign of that the the End is Near for the Legacy Media: Scott Pelley’s Firing

The gaslighting by the failing and corrupt legacy media since Trump was elected in 2015 is completely unprecedented. While there have been other Presidential figures in US history the press didn’t like or cover fairly, the 47th President has been repeatedly targeted by some of the nastiest and most dishonest journalism that’s ever been seen in America. Whether the left-wing activists pretending to be journalists lied about him being a so-called Russian asset, made false claims about his comments in Charleston, or fabricated stories about alleged comments not spoken about US troops, corporate media has repeatedly hit new and even more pathetic lows since 2015.

The failing institution known as corporate media hit what appeared to be the lowest point possible when trying to defend Biden’s clearly failing mental state for 4 long years, a lie that was eventually exposed in what was one of the most embarrassing debates in US history between the former President and Trump. Many on the left who control the liberal media essentially went scorched earth when the 45th and 47th leaders of the US took over. These left-wing activists decided that lying about and smearing the President and his MAGA movement was acceptable because, as many of these radicals claimed, Trump was an existential threat to Democracy. This, along with extremist language that referred to the President as a fascist and a threat to Democracy, became the justification to essentially destroy any semblance of credibility or respect that the corporate media had left when Trump’s first term began in 2015.

The full and complete impact of how disgusting and dishonest the press has treated MAGA and the President is still to be seen, but the firing of once well-respected journalist and the face of 60 Minutes, Scott Pelley, is a key sign that the pendulum has swung. CNN’s ratings have plummeted, and the network now has new owners. Pelley was fired after CBS was taken over by a new company that put different leadership in charge of the station’s news division and 60 Minutes as well. These editors were requiring the network to offer more balanced news coverage and fewer politically biased stories. Pelley was a left-wing activist pretending to be a journalist, along with colleagues at CBS, essentially turned 60 Minutes into a propaganda outlet that almost exclusively did absurd hit pieces on Trump and MAGA on a weekly basis. While corporate media has never been a friend to conservatives, this institution went into overdrive, putting out even blatantly false stories to try and take the current President down.

Now that the liberal press has failed and Trump won his second term, the fact is clear, the country has rejected both the message of fake journalists such as Pelley as well as the overall institution of corporate media that produced so-called news shows such as 60 Minutes. All that liars such as this left-wing activist really did was accelerate the already strong move towards a more decentralized media landscape now dominated by online streaming, podcasts, and other alternative forms of media. Winston Churchill once famously stated the importance of not confusing the end of the beginning with the beginning of the end, and the firing at CBS as well as the change in management at CNN clearly show the disgusting misuse of public airwaves to relentlessly lie and attack conservatives is finally coming to an end.

While corporate media has always obviously been biased against Republicans and conservatives, the extent to which left-wing radicals in the corrupt press went to attack Trump and MAGA destroyed the credibility of this institution. The firing of Scott Pelly signals both the continued fall of the legacy media as well as the attempt of this institution to turn the page on one of the most disappointing and pathetic chapters of journalism in the history of the United States. President came to power and got reelected despite the entire media establishment essentially waging war on him. The fact that he and the MAGA movement prevailed shows that the US is now long past the beginning of the end for the failing and corrupt corporate media.
