Tamboli’s Pizza Shop In Memphis Gives Black Eye To Pies
A pizza shop in Memphis decided that it would be a good idea to flaunt both its ignorance and its arrogance in one clean swoop. It seems that the self-righteous owner of the shop, a leftist named Miles Tamboli, has a standing order not to serve the National Guard at their restaurant.
A point that was explained to KWAM News Radio when they contacted Tamboli’s and were told by a staffer, who politely explained that National Guard troops were not welcome to dine in their restaurant under the owner’s orders.
On its Facebook page, the restaurant posted this disgusting excuse.
“The National Guard is the military, and we don’t believe the military belongs on our streets policing our neighbors. It isn’t about the individuals. Soldiers are trained for combat, not community policing.”
Who the hell do these people think they are? Four hungry National Guardsmen came to a pizza shop to get something to eat, and instead of being served and thanking them for their service, these holier-than-thou snowflakes, who have probably never served in a capacity similar to the National Guard, turned them away. This is disgusting on steroids.
As if the original act of turning away Guardsmen who were doing a service for the city wasn’t enough, Tamboli sent a long-winded leftist diatribe to WREG TV, attempting to explain what there is no excuse for.
“On Saturday night, we declined to serve four uniformed members of the Memphis Safe Task Force, and I stand behind that decision completely.
I love this country, and I love this city, and that is exactly why I made this call. I want Memphis to be safe. Every business owner does. And the honest truth is that Memphis was already getting safer before this Task Force ever arrived.Crime was at a 25-year low through the first eight months of 2025, according to the Memphis Police Department’s own data, later confirmed by an independent Tennessee Bureau of Investigation audit. That progress was earned by the people of this city. It was not delivered by soldiers.
What the Task Force has actually done is make this city harder to live in. Its own records show that the overwhelming majority of its arrests began with routine traffic stops, not violent crime. Families in this city are now afraid to drive to work, afraid to take their kids to school, afraid to be seen. Our own schools reported that fear drove children to stop showing up to class. And this month, a 20-year-old Memphian named Tyrin Johnson was shot and killed by National Guard troops during a foot chase, with no body camera footage and no answers for his family. None of that makes us safer. It makes us less safe, and it does the most damage to the people who were already struggling.
Being pro-safety means telling the truth about what actually protects a community, and it is not soldiers trained for combat doing the work of police officers. That mismatch is dangerous for the people of Memphis and dangerous for the troops themselves, who were sent here to do a job they were never trained for. The founders wrote their objection to standing armies among the people into the Declaration of Independence itself, because they understood that a free country does not let the military police its own citizens. That principle is older than any political party, and I am not willing to abandon it because it became inconvenient.
The good news is there are plenty of other Italian restaurants and pizza joints in Memphis that are pro-law enforcement and pro-National Guard.”
Yes, there are plenty of other pizza shops in Memphis that aren’t run by a stuck-up bigot who thinks that he is some sort of shining light of leftist truth. All you proved by not serving the Guardsmen is that Democrats ARE NOT the party of understanding. You exposed the left AGAIN for what they really are, petty, insignificant, crybabies who scream about injustice and then demonstrate it.
Tamboli thinks he’s above everyone else. He thinks his values are set at a higher standard than those of others, especially conservatives. He’s wrong. All he represents is a bitter owner of a pizza place who can’t see beyond his prejudices.
If you would like to contact Tamboli’s and share your thoughts regarding the disrespect shown to the National Guard, you can reach them at 901-410-8866 or via email at [email protected].
As far as eating at their location, I’d skip it. Small minds make lousy pizza.
