Toronto Adds To Canadian Embarrassment With Idiotic Mascot Stunt
As Canada slips further down the woke drain, the awful Toronto Tempo WNBA team decided that they could be just as childish as the countryโs Prime Minister, Mark Carney.
In case you havenโt been paying attention to the WNBA for the last several weeks, Sophie Cunningham, who plays for the Indiana Fever, did something outrageous by the league’s standards simply by telling the truth.
Sophie had the audacity, when questioned, to say that women should play against women in a womenโs league and men should play against men in a menโs league. In any other period of time in human history, everyone would have shrugged their shoulders and said, โno kidding,โ but in this twilight zone that the radical left has created, it bred outrage, violence, and, last but not least, the immature actions of Torontoโs petulant group of clowns.
In a deliberate attempt to appear cool and hip in an LGBTQ way, the Toronto team introduced two LGBTQ mascots, with names almost as clever as โThe Tempo.โ The new mascots are Dez the Snapping Turtle and Dot the Arctic Hare.
Seriously, you have to ask yourself if the same marketing person who came up with the โGo Mennenโ commercials from the late 70s and early 80s is making a comeback with these fools.
Obviously, this entire circus was drummed up to coincide with Sophie and the Feverโs visit. Dez, one of the new duo of mascots, is a nonbinary turtle that goes by she/they pronouns.
In a press release, the team said:
โDez and Dot made their debut at Scotiabank Arena and brought two very different kinds of energy โ and a shared sense of rhythm โ to the court for the first time.โ
Think thatโs bad? It gets much worse.
โDez is described as being a โBorealis Blue Snapping Turtle from Muskoka, Ontario,โ and has โshe/theyโ pronouns. Their name is inspired by decibel, a nod to their love of music and role as the more measured half of the duo. Dez is calm, clever, and always thinking a few steps ahead.โ
Dot, who has โshe/herโ pronouns, is described as bringing โseemingly endless energy, acrobatics and enthusiasm to everything she does โ making her the undisputed hype woman of the pair.โ
โTogether, Dez and Dot offer a new spin on one of the oldest pairings in storytelling: the tortoise and the hare. Instead of slow against fast, they are steady and swift โ a reminder that knowing when to change pace can be just as important as the pace itself.โ
Please, this is about as stomach-turning as it can get. Wow, even on an airplane, they give you an airsickness bag.
The press release then went on to deepen the nausea by even giving the two mascotsโ astrological signs, Dez being a โTaurus who spins the 1s and 2s in their spare timeโ that has a โparticular fondness for soft shell tacos,โ and Dot being a Gemini โwhose hobbies can best be described as โhops and hype,โ and loves cotton candy.โ
Make it stop.
Whitney Bell, Chief Marketing Officer for the Toronto Tempo, tried to explain the syrupy madness with even more madness:
โFrom the beginning, we wanted our mascots to feel distinctly Tempo โ rooted in who we are as a Canadian team. Dez and Dot have completely different personalities, but theyโre better together. One knows when to slow things down; the other knows when to turn the energy all the way up. That balance felt like such a natural expression of Tempo, and we canโt wait for our fans to get to know them.โ
Obviously, no one has ever explained to this moron that people donโt do deep dives into mascot biographies. Especially when you make them offensive with ridiculous, nonsensical pronouns.
Back here on Earth, it should be noted that the hypocritical fans of this dumpster fire of a team who want to pretend that they are so understanding and loving booed Sophie both outside the stadium before the game and inside every time she took the court.
All because a woman had the gall to protect women playing in a women’s league.
But hell, in Toronto reality and common sense donโt matter. What matters in Toronto is that they have their LGBTQ tortoise-and-hare mascots, and one likes soft shell tacos while the other likes cotton candy.
Good Luck with that.
