A View Host Kept A Cannibal Out Of Prison And Brags About It
Whenever the argument comes up about murder and madness, you have to establish a baseline. In my mind, that baseline is simple. Anyone who commits multiple murders must have some type of mental disorder. So saying they are psychotic is redundant and, frankly, meaningless, and does not remove their guilt.
We all know that many murderers try to feign madness to avoid prison. The reason for that is that spending your time in a mental institution is much easier than spending it in jail.
So, when a mother strangles all three of her children to death, it’s a given that something is wrong with her. Yet, three children are dead, and their deaths are not meaningless. So, to the eleven jurors who voted to acquit her of criminal murder based on some sort of postpartum psychosis, I say, wake up and grow up.
Put yourself in the position of those kids; they trusted their mother, and they were keenly aware that it was their mother who was strangling the life out of them with exercise bands. Strangling is the most intimate manner of murder. It is not instantaneous; it takes time, so accomplishing it is especially brutal.
In the aftermath of that disastrous trial, Sunny Hostin, one of the loudmouths on The View, decided it was time to stick her chest out and brag about being the one holdout juror in the 1991 trial of Daniel Rakowitz, the man New Yorkers came to know as “The Butcher of Tompkins Square Park.”
In case you’re not familiar with the Rakowitz case, this sweetheart of a guy murdered his roommate Monika Beerle in 1989, dismembered her body, boiled her remains into a cannibal soup, and served it to homeless people in the park. Her skull was found in a bucket of kitty litter at the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
Is this guy nuts? Of course he’s nuts. If squirrels could carry him, they would hustle him back to their nest and stuff him in for the winter. That’s not the point. When someone commits a horrific crime or deliberately kills multiple people, they need to either be put to death or locked up for life without the possibility of ever getting out.
If they are institutionalized, there is always the possibility that they may be released. No matter how small that possibility is, these people do not deserve that chance. They are a menace to society, and they deserve prison.
Yet here is Hostin, not lamenting her actions, but crowing about the fact that she saved this monster from the fate he deserved. Hostin said she saw “clearly that he was psychotic” and held out for nine days until the weary jury gave in to this brain-dead liberal and found Rakowitz not guilty by reason of insanity.
“We were sequestered for nine days. One juror threw a chair at me; they were so angry with me.”
Too bad he missed.
She related that when she recently brought it up, she was miffed because some people doubted her story.
“My producer looked it up, and I’m in The New York Times, and apparently ‘several jurors questioned afterward said one holdout juror was principally responsible for preventing them from returning a guilty verdict.’ That was me.”
Isn’t she special?
Even the Crimson Witch, Joy Behar, was shocked by the revelation, saying, “The guy who ate the victims?”
Yep, that’s the one.
After the jury delivered the verdict, Rakowitz told them, “I hope someday we can smoke a joint together.”
Really remorseful, huh?
This is the monster Hostin decided deserved the benefit of the doubt. An animal who killed his female roommate, cut her body into pieces, boiled her into a macabre stew, and then fed her to the homeless.
Since his acquittal in 1991, Rakowitz has been held at Kirby Forensic Psychiatric Center on Wards Island. He has made multiple petitions for transfer to a less secure facility.
This established a process for regular release hearings – each one an opportunity for the system to determine if he poses a threat. In 2004, a jury actually found Rakowitz was no longer dangerous – but concluded he remained mentally ill and kept him institutionalized anyway. That was one jury away from a different outcome.
Hostin is bragging about giving this animal countless opportunities to be back on the streets. With all the left-wing liberalism in society today, who’s to say that some group of bleeding hearts won’t release him back into society?
If he ever does get out, I hope he whips up a nice batch of stew for Hostin.
