It’s Criminal How Little Credit Trump Is Getting For His Accomplishments In This Term

This is a long post. Read it anyway, and then send it to the friend who keeps telling you nothing has changed in Washington.

I have been in and around politics for a long time, and I have never seen a gap this wide between what a President has done and what his own voters can recite. Ask ten Republicans to name three things President Trump has accomplished since January 2025. Most of them will stall after one. That is not because the record is thin. The record is the deepest of any first two years in modern memory. The problem is that the press buries the wins, and too many conservatives have stopped telling the story themselves.

So here is the story. These are laws signed, court cases won, policies in force, deals closed, and numbers on the board. None of them are promises. Pick five, learn them cold, and use them the next time someone tells you this President has done nothing.

Start with the border, because that is where the change is easiest to see.

1. The border is under control for the first time in a generation. Illegal crossings fell to their lowest point in roughly 50 years within months of the inauguration. Catch-and-release ended. Wall construction restarted and grew. Remain in Mexico came back. Releases of illegal aliens into the interior fell by more than 99 percent.

2. Migration reversed. In 2025, more people left the country than came in, something America had not recorded in at least half a century. Close to three million illegal aliens are gone, with more than 675,000 removed by force and the rest leaving on their own. The administration offered plane tickets and a cash bonus to anyone who chose to self-deport, which saved taxpayers a fortune compared to the cost of a forced removal.

3. The Laken Riley Act is law. Federal authorities must now detain illegal aliens arrested for theft, burglary, shoplifting, assault on a police officer, or any crime that kills or seriously injures someone. States can sue federal officials who refuse to enforce it. This law exists because a young woman was murdered by a man who should have been in custody. It will keep other families from living her parents’ nightmare.

4. Violent crime fell faster in 2025 than in any year on record. FBI data shows a 9.7 percent drop, with murder down 18.1 percent and robbery down 18.5 percent. The national violent crime rate is now the lowest since 1900. Putting the National Guard on the streets of the most dangerous cities in the country produced fewer victims and safer neighborhoods for the poorest Americans.

Now look at the economy, because this is where the next decade is being built.

5. The 2017 tax cuts are permanent and bigger. The One Big Beautiful Bill locked in the doubled standard deduction, the larger Child Tax Credit, and full expensing for factories and equipment. It added no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, relief on Social Security benefits, and a larger deduction for seniors. Every Democrat in Congress voted no. Had they won, the largest tax increase in American history would have hit in January.

6. Regulations are coming off the books at a rate of 129 to 1. In fiscal 2025, federal agencies finalized 646 deregulatory actions against five new rules, and most of those five were written to undo old ones. The White House regulatory office says the savings already exceed the whole of the first Trump term. The largest single item was the repeal of the 2009 Endangerment Finding, the legal foundation for the electric vehicle mandate. EPA calls it the biggest deregulatory action in American history and estimates it will save Americans more than $1.3 trillion. The federal EV mandate is dead, and Americans can once again buy the cars and trucks they actually want.

7. Companies have committed $18 trillion in new American investment. That figure is nearly two thirds of the entire U.S. economy. It is paying for chip plants, data centers, steel mills, shipyards, energy projects, and supply chains staffed by American workers. Apple, Meta, NVIDIA, Micron, Hyundai, U.S. Steel, Ford, and Taiwan Semiconductor are all on the list, alongside sovereign wealth funds from around the world. No President has attracted anything close to it.

8. Reshoring is happening in real factories, with real payrolls. Ford is moving Lincoln production out of China. Toyota is bringing Tacoma production from Mexico to Texas. General Motors, Honda, Mercedes-Benz, and Stellantis are all expanding American plants. The machinery being installed today is the foundation of the boom you will read about next year.

9. Trade deals are balanced again. The President used tariffs as leverage to reopen agreements that had tilted against American workers for 80 years. The result is new or improved deals with trading partners representing more than half of the world’s economy. Those deals open foreign markets, tear down hidden barriers, protect strategic industries, and make it more profitable to build here than to ship jobs abroad.

10. American energy leads the world. A country that once sent $700 billion a year overseas for oil now produces more than Saudi Arabia and Russia combined. Exports of oil, natural gas, and LNG are setting records, and the United States became the first nation ever to ship more than 100 million metric tons of LNG in a single year. The administration opened federal land, sped up permits, and approved pipelines and export terminals to make it possible.

11. Five new nuclear reactors reached criticality in one year. For more than four decades, not one new privately developed advanced reactor had gone live in America. The President set a target of three by July 4, 2026. The Energy Department delivered four by that date and a fifth a month later. That is a real nuclear revival after 40 years of nothing.

12. Prescription drug prices are coming down. The President signed the most favored nation order requiring drug makers to charge Americans no more than they charge patients in other wealthy countries. Major manufacturers signed agreements to cut prices, and the administration launched a direct-purchase channel so patients can buy at those lower prices without a middleman.

The next group is about who actually runs the government. This is the part the press understands least and fears most.

13. The Supreme Court restored the President’s power over the executive branch. In Trump v. Slaughter, decided this June, the Court overruled a 1935 precedent that had shielded so-called independent agencies from the elected President for 90 years. Ask yourself why elections so often change nothing. The answer is one President and about 5,000 appointees against roughly 2.8 million career employees who could not be fired. The administration then made the ruling real by putting policy-making bureaucrats on notice that they can be removed for misconduct, incompetence, or defying lawful orders.

14. Nationwide injunctions are no longer a veto for a single judge. In Trump v. CASA, the Supreme Court sharply limited the power of one district judge to block a national policy for the whole country. That tactic had been used against this President on a near-daily basis since 2017. The Court took the weapon away.

15. USAID is closed. The agency had grown into a taxpayer-funded engine for abortion promotion, gender ideology, censorship programs, and political meddling abroad, with a budget larger than the CIA and State Department combined and almost no oversight. The President shut it down and moved real humanitarian work under the State Department. In the months that followed, seven socialist governments in Latin America lost elections.

16. The federal workforce is the smallest it has been since 1966. Reductions in force, agency closures, and canceled spending cut the headcount from its Biden-era peak to a 60-year low. When Biden left office, more than nine in ten federal employees were working from home. The administration ended that. If you want a federal paycheck, you show up.

17. DEI is out of the federal government. The President eliminated DEI offices across the executive branch and barred race and sex preferences in hiring and contracting. Merit and equal treatment under the law are the standard again.

18. Public broadcasting no longer gets a federal check. Congress passed the President’s rescissions package, which clawed back more than $9 billion in previously approved spending, including every dollar earmarked for NPR and PBS. Taxpayers are no longer required to fund a news operation that treats half the country with contempt.

19. The Department of Education is being wound down. The President signed the order to close it and return authority over schools to the states. Its workforce has been cut roughly in half, and its programs are being moved to other agencies where they can be run without a federal bureaucracy sitting on top of every local school board.

Then there is the fight for faith, family, and common sense.

20. Life is protected at every level the executive branch can reach. In his first term, the President appointed the justices who overturned Roe v. Wade. Since returning, he has enforced the Hyde Amendment, restored and expanded the Mexico City Policy, ended federal fetal tissue research, strengthened conscience protections, blocked Medicaid dollars from flowing to large abortion providers, and pardoned 23 pro-life Americans prosecuted by the Biden Justice Department. He has done everything within the executive branch’s power to cut off Planned Parenthood. Congress should finish the job.

21. Men are out of women’s sports. The federal government once again recognizes two sexes, male and female. The President ended federal support for the chemical and surgical transition of minors, cut off taxpayer funding for it, and pressured more than three dozen hospital systems to end or suspend those programs. Title IX is being enforced as written. Girls have their own teams, their own trophies, and their own locker rooms again, and the NCAA rewrote its rules to comply.

22. America has its first nationwide school choice program. The One Big Beautiful Bill created the Education Freedom Tax Credit, which funds scholarships for tuition, books, and other costs for families who want out of a failing school. On top of that, the new Trump Accounts give every eligible newborn a $1,000 seed in a tax-advantaged account. Parents gain leverage. Bureaucracies lose it.

23. Anti-Christian bias is being investigated instead of ignored. The President created the White House Faith Office, the Religious Liberty Commission, and a task force dedicated to rooting out discrimination against Christians inside the federal government. Conscience protections are back. No American forfeits the First Amendment by taking a job or entering public life.

24. English is the official language of the United States. For the first time in the nation’s history, a President signed an order making it official. A shared language is part of what makes a nation, and the federal government now says so.

Finally, peace through strength. This is the part that keeps our adversaries up at night.

25. NATO allies are finally paying their share. For decades, wealthy European governments underfunded their militaries and let American taxpayers cover the difference. The President forced the alliance to scrap its old two percent of GDP target and adopt five percent by 2035. Allied defense spending is climbing, orders for American-made equipment are surging, and Europe is becoming a partner rather than a dependent.

26. Iran’s nuclear program was hit where it lived. In June 2025, American bombers struck Iran’s fortified enrichment sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan in a single night, with no American casualties. The regime that chanted death to America for 40 years learned what an American President with resolve looks like.

27. China’s foothold in our hemisphere collapsed. Beijing had spent years building positions at both ends of the Panama Canal, in Cuba, and in Venezuela. The President forced Panama out of the Belt and Road Initiative, expanded American security access around the Canal, and ordered the operation that captured Nicolás Maduro, who is now in a federal jail in New York awaiting trial on narco-terrorism charges. The Monroe Doctrine is back in force.

28. Eight peace agreements in eight months. The President brokered settlements in eight conflicts across four continents, including wars that had dragged on for decades and the deal that brought the Israeli hostages home from Gaza. No President has a record like it.

29. Golden Dome is funded and under construction. Ronald Reagan dreamed of a shield that would make nuclear missiles obsolete. This President is building it, a layered defense with space-based sensors and interceptors, conventional systems, microwave weapons to defeat drone swarms, and directed-energy systems that can replace an $11 million interceptor with a few dollars of electricity. Congress has approved the first $25 billion, with more coming in this fall’s defense bill.

30. The military is recruiting again. After years of missed targets under Biden, every active-duty branch met or beat its 2025 recruiting goal. The President and Secretary Hegseth refocused the Department of War on winning wars and poured resources into shipbuilding, munitions, drones, and missile defense. Young Americans are signing up because they believe the man at the top has their back.

That is 30, and I could keep going. Every item on this list is a change in law, power, money, or the structure of the government itself. None of it came from a press release.

Midterm elections are decided by turnout. We do not need to persuade a single Democrat to admire this President. We need Republicans and friendly independents to understand what has been won, what is at stake, and to show up in November.

I hear from people every week who say the Republicans are doing a poor job telling this story. Understand something. You are the Republicans. The other side does not wait for its elected officials to make its case. Its supporters carry the message every day, in every conversation, whether or not the facts hold up. Our side has more information at its fingertips than any group of people in history, and half of us cannot name three of these wins.

Sulking over what has not happened yet is a losing habit, and losers do not get to complain about the results. This President is delivering.
