All The Democrats Have To Offer Is Fear Itself
In his first inauguration, Franklin D. Roosevelt said the famous line, “the only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” The Democratic Party’s closing midterm message is offering nothing but fear itself.
The Democrats are saying that if Republicans win as expected on Tuesday that American democracy will die. President Joe Biden even made a speech last from Union Station in Washington, D.C. to warn that American democracy is “under attack.”
It’s not just Joe Biden rambling about the “end of democracy” if Republicans win. An alleged historian named Michael Beschloss went on MSNBC last night and said we were “six days away” from the end of democracy, historians, and the rule of law. He even went on to say that a GOP midterm victory would be the beginning of a brutal GOP dictatorship that would see our children “arrested and conceivably killed.” Oh, the horror!
The caption to the intro of that segment was a doozy as well.
Of course when Democrats and the left talking about “democracy being in danger” they’re simply talking about losing an election. They believe that the only “democratic” outcome is when they win. The left rejects any other outcome. When Republicans win on Tuesday, they will likely blame “voter suppression” or “misinformation” because they cannot conceive of an outcome where they are repudiated by the American people.
Here’s another way you can tell Democrats are not serious about “defending democracy.” Democrats spent millions of dollars to boost “election deniers” and other far-right candidates because they believed they would be easier to defeat than more mainstream Republicans.
But this is not the only thing Democrats are fearmongering about. Democrats are claiming that Republicans are going to do everything from taking away birth control to getting rid of Social Security. All the Democrats have to offer is fear itself.
It’s obvious why Democrats are trying to scare the hell out of you into voting for them. They do not have any answers to the problems that the American people are facing. January 6th doesn’t mean a whole lot when inflation is destroying your earnings and making it difficult to put food on the table. Voter suppression falls on deaf ears when you can’t afford to fil your car’s gas tank.
The Democrats want to talk about everything else except the problems you are facing. Why? Because their policies have made the economy and especially inflation worse. That’s why they have to scare you about everything from Social Security cuts to the very destruction of American democracy itself.
What makes it worse for Democrats is that their candidates have been begging for some sort of an economic message. But they have decided to close on promoting taxpayer-funded abortion at the moment of birth and “Republicans will kill democracy.” That’s cold comfort to a family who is struggling to make ends meet.
It’s up to the American people to prove that trying to scare the hell out of them won’t work. We need to show up and build the biggest possible red wave to flush as many of them out of office as possible. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.
