When Punishment Isn’t A “Drag” It’s A Blessing

Thank-You Equality Florida, ….. Thank-You.

As a resident of the Sunshine State, I couldn’t be happier with your “punishment.”

Yesterday, a group called Equality Florida issued a travel advisory claiming that Governor DeSantis has instituted “hostile” policies against the LGBTQ Community warning those considering traveling to or moving to the state.

Claiming that they had received inquiries over safety concerns following laws that were:

“Hostile to the LGBTQ community, restrict access to reproductive health care, repeal gun safety laws, foment racial prejudice, and attack public education by banning books and censoring curriculum.”

So here we go, lets quickly refute these one by one. Hostile. Nope. Banning exploitive drag shows in elementary and middle schools isn’t hostile. Restrict reproductive health. Nope. Take the pill, use a condom, use a diaphragm, use a sponge, abstain, or take a morning after pill. There a plenty of CHOICES women can make. If they choose not to, murder is out of the question. Gun laws. Nope. It’s called the Second Amendment, (Have someone read it to you sometime). Racial prejudice. Nope. LOL, now you are reaching. This is Florida, You must be thinking about your visit to Chicago. Book Banning. Nope. Again, elementary and middle school children don’t need to read smut at that age. Books aren’t banned, graphic smut is eliminated. How graphic? When DeSantis held a press conference with slides of the books content, local news stations stopped coverage stating the content was too graphic. Now, how do you defend the fact that if a midday news conference is too graphic for adults, that it is fine for young children?

This is the statement that was made by Nadine Smith, the Executive Director of Equality Florida:

“As an organization that has spent decades working to improve Florida’s reputation as a welcoming and inclusive place to live work and visit, it is with great sadness that we must respond to those asking if it is safe to travel to Florida or remain in the state as the laws strip away basic rights and freedoms. While losing conferences, and top students who have written off Florida threatens lasting damage to our state, it is most heartbreaking to hear from parents who are selling their homes and moving because school censorship, book bans and health care restrictions have made their home state less safe for their children. We understand everyone must weigh the risks and decide what is best for their safety, but whether you stay away, leave or remain we ask that you join us in countering these relentless attacks.  Help reimagine and build a Florida that is truly safe for and open to all, and where freedom is a reality, not a hollow campaign slogan.”

For the record, Florida led the nation in population growth last year with an increase of 1.9 percent, or approximately 319,000 new residence.

Isn’t it interesting that such a small group of people think that their perverted thoughts should rule the world.

Don’t like common sense?

Don’t like morality?

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
