Ebony And Ivory? Nope, Just Ebony

I swear Liberals can come up with more ways to divide people than a solid brick wall. They have a knack of selling each other on the fallacy that they are doing these things for the better good, but they know better.

Gavin Newsome is the warden of the leftist state of California. He signed legislation that made California the first state in the country to create a racist alert system for only black women and children.

Thatโ€™s right, not satisfied with the Amber Alert that doesnโ€™t discriminate, Newsome decided that an Ebony Alert was necessary to placate black Americans by playing the race card in a totally unnecessary situation. I donโ€™t know of anyone that has ever concerned themselves with race when an Amber Alert was issued.

The new discriminatory Ebony Alert is designed to notify the public when either black children or young black women between the ages of 12 and 25 go missing. The age limit was increased from 17 to 25.

The bill was championed by leftist Democratic Senator Steven Bradford. In a press release his office offered up this excuse.

According to the Black and Missing Foundation, 38% of missing children reported in the United States are black, and a recent human trafficking report found 40% of sex trafficking victims were black women.

Bradford went on to say that black children are often classified as โ€œrunawaysโ€ as opposed to โ€œmissingโ€ and do not receive Amber Alert or media attention. The

โ€œEbony Alertโ€ allows law enforcement to tell the State Highway Patrol to activate highway signs notifying motorists of a missing person if the investigating agency believes it would help find the child or young adult. Bradford also says it โ€œencouragesโ€ media outlets to disseminate information about the missing person.

That all sounds fine, except designating it for missing black children or women is still totally racist, bigoted, and discriminatory. If 38 percent of missing children are black that means that 62 percent are not black, what about them? The same for the statistics on women that are being trafficked. If 40 percent are black, what about the other 60 percent?

According to the California legislature:

California is taking bold and needed action to locate missing black children and black women in California. Our black children and young women are disproportionately represented on the lists of missing persons. This is heartbreaking and painful for so many families and a public crisis for our entire state.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored people (NAACP) California Hawaii State Conference also helped to push the legislation through.

The CA/HI NAACP President Rick Callender, stated that the law:

โ€œrepresents a historic breakthrough, guaranteeing that black children and young black women will receive the attention and protection they need when they are reported missing. This is a great first step to mitigating the racial inequities when it comes to black women and children when they go missing.โ€

Besides the standard Amber Alert, California also has the Silver Alert for missing senior citizens and the disabled, the Blue Alert for people who have attacked members of law enforcement and the Feather Alert for missing Native Americans.

I can certainly understand differentiating the Blue and Silver Alerts, they represent distinctly different people and circumstances. However, the Ebony and Feather Alerts are unnecessary and by naming them independently seem to place a  higher priority on the race of those individuals. All warden Newsom needs to do now is initiate an Ivory Alert and the segregation of those missing in California will be complete. As I stated earlier, I know of no-one that ever took race into consideration when an Amber Alert was issued. Newsome, has now erased the camaraderie of a united citizenship looking for one of its own that may be in trouble. He has now alienated many and may have reduced the populations resolve to find those that have gone missing.
