Do Establishment Republicans support “Hate Speech” Laws?

When I first started following politics back in 2014-2015, I remembered hearing a lot about American colleges’ attempts to ban “hate speech”. At the time, Conservative political commentators staunchly stood for the First Amendment and freedom of speech on the college campus.

In the past few months, some Establishment Republican politicians and Conservative media figures have seemingly abandoned the 1st Amendment.

Last week, neo-con presidential candidate Nikki Haley got in hot water over a recent Fox News interview. In the interview, Haley made some anti-free speech comments in which she called for “verification” of social media users by their “real name”.

I am not joking. Haley believes it is a good idea for Big Tech companies to possess the real names of all social media users. Sounds like a recipe for disaster because Big Tech companies have colluded with the Federal government to censor “misinformation” in recent years.

GOP Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy called Haley for unconstitutional, anti-free speech rhetoric.

Our Founding Fathers would be appalled to hear a Presidential candidate calling for blatant free speech restrictions. However, Nikki Haley is not the only Republican presidential candidate calling for anti-free speech legislation.

Back in April, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a “Hate Speech” Bill during the last Florida Legislative session. The anti-Free Speech bill states “if a person violates subparagraph 1. by intentionally dumping litter onto private property for the purpose of intimidating or threatening the owner, resident, or invitee of such property, the person commits a misdemeanor.” That’s right: leaving a leaflet on somebody’s property can now be considered a criminal act in the state of Florida.

In view of DeSantis’s anti-free speech actions, Vivek also criticized DeSantis in a recent Twitter video. If you watch the video below, then you will find that Vivek defended the Constitutional rights of people he disagreed with.

While America First patriots should be grateful to hear Vivek’s solid defense of Free speech, we should all be concerned that other major Republican presidential candidate are calling for the exact opposite.

In the end, the American Regime wants Republican politicians to support “hate speech laws” and other free speech restrictions. The Regime will weaponize any additional free speech restrictions against Conservatives–as was evident in 2020 and 2021. Therefore, the Conservative movement cannot afford to allow Republicans to support free speech restrictions.

Free speech is a fundamental part of Americans’ liberty, and American patriots need to safeguard this Constitutional right from both sides of the political aisle.
