Tucker: Nikki Haley Is The Ruling Class’ Last Gasp

Posted on X an hour ago, this is Tucker Carlson’s take on the Iowa caucuses, which Donald Trump blew away with 51 percent of the vote. That was 30 points better than Ron DeSantis’ 21 percent for second place. Nikki Haley came in third with 19 percent.

And yet there is, for some reason, buzz about how Haley is doing – when 81 percent of the Republican voters rejected her in Iowa last night.

Carlson explains that Haley is an invention of the donor class and ruling class. She’s a neoliberal, who accepts the Left’s formulation on just about every issue and lectures to conservative voters that the things they want they cannot have. And because she is and does those things Nikki Haley is being prepped as the installed token opposition candidate.

Vivek Ramaswamy dropped out last night. DeSantis is likely to be forced out of the race in the next month. That would leave Haley alone in the GOP field with Trump.

And then something – Carlson figures it’s Trump going to jail based on one of the jumped-up criminal cases he’s beset with thanks to rogue prosecutors in New York, Atlanta, Washington, DC and South Florida, but it might also be the assassination Democrat political and media figures are furiously attempting to inspire – would take Trump out of the race, leaving Haley as the only remaining option for Republican voters.

This is not an implausible scenario. That isn’t to say it’s particularly likely, but it carries enough weight of possibility that it can’t be dismissed.

Neither can Carlson’s take on Haley as a hostile actor beholden to people who do not have conservative America’s best interests in mind.
