Tim Scott Missed a Major Opportunity on Meet the Press
Meet the Press host (and liberal activist) Kristen Welker this morning interrogated U.S. Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) repeatedly with the same stupid question.
Scott had an easy way to shut Welker up with one simple question of his own. Unfortunately, he didn’t take the advantage and go on offense.

WELKER: Will you commit to accepting the election results of 2024, bottom line?
SCOTT: At the end of the day, the 47th president of the United States will be Donald Trump. I’m excited to get back to low inflation and low unemployment.

WELKER: Yes or no, yes or no, yes or no. Will you accept the election results of 2024, no matter who wins?
SCOTT: That is my statement.
WELKER: Just yes or no. Will you accept the election results of 2024?
SCOTT: I look forward to President Trump being the 47th president of the United States. You can ask me this question multiple times.

WELKER: Just a yes or no answer.
SCOTT: The American people will make the decision, and the decision will be for President Trump.
WELKER: But I don’t hear you committing to the election results. Will you commit to accepting the election results?
SCOTT: This is why so many Americans believe NBC is an extension of the Democratic Party. At the end of the day, I’ve said what I’ve said, and I know that the American people’s voices will be heard. I believe that President Trump will be our next president. It’s that simple.
WELKER: But, Senator, as you know, the hallmark of our democracy is that both candidates agree to a peaceful transfer of power so I am asking you as a potential vice-presidential nominee, will you commit to accepting the election results in this election cycle no matter who wins? It’s a simple yes or no.
SCOTT: I expect President Trump to win the next election. I’m not going to answer your hypothetical question when in fact I believe the American people are speaking today on the results of the election.
Here’s the question Scott should have thrown at Welker:
“Will you and your network commit to accepting the election results of 2024, even if Biden loses?”
I don’t know if this would have rendered Welker speechless, but conservatives deserve an answer.
NBC and the rest of the corporate media wouldn’t accept Donald Trump’s victory in 2016. They bombarded the public with fake news stories about Russian collusion putting Trump in the White House.
If Trump wins in 2024 (and fingers crossed and many prayers said that he does), Welker and the rest of the corporate press will regurgitate similar claims and will likely even scream that voter suppression of minorities and poor people kept them from reelecting Biden.
If Trump wins in 2024 then Welker and the rest of the dingbats in the corporate media will never accept the result. How I wish Scott had turned her own question around on her.

I said something nearly two years ago that it’s time to repeat again. Conservatives who grant interviews to the establishment press must stiffen their spines. They must expect the unexpected. They must think up clever rebuttals and clever soundbites — immediately and on the spot — to discredit the corporate media narrative.
If Scott aspires to serve as Trump’s vice president, then he — or whomever Trump nominates to fill that role — had better learn to handle a press that is hostile to Republicans and outright belligerent to MAGA Republicans.
