The Release of Child of God II
Last Friday, Christian singer Forrest Frank suddenly released the follow-up album to the award-winning album Child of God. Frank’s new album Child of God II is an epic, hour-long album with a tracklist of twenty songs.
The tracklist contains popular collaborations with country music star Thomas Rhett in the song Nothing Else and with R&B singer Nathan Davis Jr. on Woke up This Morning. Besides these collaborations, this album includes a mix of soothing tracks like Like Water and and In the Room to more energetic tracks like DROP! and NO L’s. This album certainly has an interesting variety of music for listeners to enjoy.
In its brief run, the Child of God II album is already achieving remarkable success. In fact, Child of God II single Your Way’s Better has already hit #61 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This single has remained on the the chart for three weeks as of this writing.
On a similar note, Forrest Frank’s single Your Way’s Better helped make history as it alongside Brandon Lake’s “Hard Fought Hallelujah” marked the only the second time that two Christian songs simultaneously have cracked the Billboard Hot 100 chart. 2014 was the last time that two Christian songs hit the Billboard Hot 100 list at the same time. Not a bad start for Frank’s new hit song and album.
The release of Child of God II coincides with the final leg of Frank’s Child of God Tour: Part 2 this month–the final show of tour being on May 17th.
For anyone interested, Child of God II is available on major music streaming services Spotify and Apple Music. You can also find the individual songs from this album on Forrest Frank’s YouTube channel.
The album has received rave reviews so far from Christian media outlets. Last week, writer Jesse T. Jackson from ChurchLeaders.com shared that “Forrest Frank Takes Gospel Mission Seriously in New Release โChild of God IIโ” in an article last week. Similarly, CCM Magazine gave Child of God II a 5 out of 5 star rating in a recent review of the album.
I’ve personally listened to Child of God II in its entirety, and I thoroughly enjoyed this album. In fact, I ordered a vinyl record record of Child of God II (which is now sold out online). So, I look forward to enjoying this album alongside the Child of God album for many years to come.
