While Texas Teaches The Pitfalls Of Communism, New York Is Well, New York

This past summer, Texas enacted Senate Bill 24 (SB 24), which mandates a new, comprehensive curriculum for grades 4-12 that focuses on the history, dangers, and atrocities of communism. This curriculum is set to be implemented in the 2026-2027 school year and will contrast communist ideologies with American principles of freedom and individual rights. It will include victim testimony and aim to protect against future communist influence.

Meanwhile, in New York, Zohran Mamdani was sworn in as mayor on a Quran. In his “Communist” inauguration speech, Mamdani stated the exact opposite of what that city or any city needs, claiming he will govern “expansively and audaciously,” and will bring back “the era of big government.”

In Texas, the curriculum will include a study of historical events such as the Holodomor, the Cultural Revolution, the Cambodian genocide, the Soviet purges, and modern-day communist regimes. It will compare communist systems with U.S. principles, emphasizing individual rights, democracy, and free enterprise. The curriculum will also feature input from victims of communism, incorporating their personal accounts.

Meanwhile, in New York, Mamdani was resolute that he would pursue taxing the rich, bragging:

“I was elected as a democratic socialist, and I will govern as a democratic socialist. I will not abandon my principles for fear of being deemed radical.”

No problem there. Every time Mamdani opens his mouth, the same old Communist rhetoric spews out. To the lazy and naïve, his promise to tax the rich and bring back big government sounds comforting. Read a little history, a communist government is not going to be a warm blanket you can snuggle up to. It will be cold, hard, and unsympathetic to people’s needs.

Texas officials know this and are attempting to stimulate young minds in their state to the truth about how communism really is. The Texas Board of Education is not wasting any time. They have set a July 31, 2026, deadline for compliance. The board believes that in this day and age of creeping socialism/communism, it’s imperative that students understand the oppression and suffering under communism and recognize it as a deadly form of government.

Meanwhile, in New York, the rhetoric continued with Mamdani continuing to promise what he can’t deliver, things like free buses, universal childcare, and a rent freeze on rent-stabilized apartments. Mamdani was only elected because he somehow sold these pipe dreams to an electorate that refuses to understand history. He promised $10 billion in freebies, which he claims will be paid for by raising taxes on the rich and corporations.

You don’t have to be an accountant to know that this is nothing more than smoke and mirrors. This man has never even held a real job before, and yet there were the Mamdani groupies, eyes rolled back in their heads and mouths hanging open, slurping up every lie he tossed out.

No communist gathering would be complete without the old curmudgeon from Vermont, Bernie Sanders, or the galactically stupid Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. AOC kicked off the lie fest by saying that voters had “chosen courage over fear.”

“We have chosen prosperity for the many over spoils for the few. We have chosen that over the distractions of bigotry and the barbarism of extreme income inequality.”

For his part, Sanders rolled out the same schtick, which he always does, while trying to convince everyone that Mamdani isn’t really that radical.

“At a time in our country’s history when we are seeing too much hatred, too much divisiveness, and too much injustice, thank you for electing Zohran Mamdani as your mayor.”

Right, because nothing says unity like trying to invoke a communist regime in one of the largest cities in a Democratic/Constitutional Republic.

Sanders continued:

“You know, all of us have heard that Zohran’s opponents have called the agenda that he campaigned on radical, communistic. Oh, and absolutely unachievable. Really, that’s not what we believe. In the richest country in the history of the world, making sure that people can live in affordable housing is not radical.”

No, it’s not, until you factor in that far too many people don’t want to contribute to society and instead, expect those who work hard to take care of them.

Mamdani billed this abomination as an “Inauguration for a New Era Block Party,” and as part of the staged show, he arrived with his wife Rama Duwaji in a yellow cab.

Back here on earth, Texas is joining other states, such as Florida, in passing laws that require anti-communist education. Unlike the situation in New York, this curriculum is designed to counter ideological indoctrination and provide a factual understanding of communism’s historical impact, while contrasting it with American values.

Happy New Year, New York, and Good Luck … You’re going to need it.
